Koenig Highlights NCAA Regional Performances

MADISON, N.J. - Duke fencing concluded the 2024 NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional on Saturday as 10 Blue Devils notched top-10 performances, highlighted by Charlotte Koenig's first-place finish in women's foil.

How It Happened

Koenig highlighted Duke's performances for both squads, followed by Rachel Kowalsky's third-place finish in women's epee.
Other top-10 performers were — Natalie Olsen (5th, saber), Allen Marakov (5th, epee), Samir Travers (6th, saber), Noah Nager (7th, foil), Christina Ferrari (8th, foil), Kunling Tong (9th, saber) Hava Stone (10th, saber) and Sophia Shen (10th, foil).
Women's foil qualified all four competitors to the final round of pool play, while women's saber qualified three.
Qualifiers for the NCAA Championship will be announced next week. A fencer's performance at regionals will have a direct impact on their chance at qualifying for the NCAA Championship, as both the regular season resumé and placing at the regional meet will be considered when the field is selected.
