The Opening Faceoff
- Duke has its toughest weekend so far this season, hosting top-20 foes Penn and Princeton in a Friday and Sunday set. The Quakers are coming off a victory over Delaware and ranked 17th. Princeton is No. 14 after falling to Maryland, 13-7, this past Saturday. Faceoff with the Quakers is set for 6 p.m.
- The Blue Devils are 5-2 against Penn in Durham and are facing the Tigers for the first time since 2002.
- The Quakers are 2-1 with victories over Albany and Delaware and a loss to Georgetown. Penn is coming off a thrilling comeback victory over the Blue Hens, outscoring them 7-4 in the second half, including 5-1 in the third quarter. Tynan Walsh headlined the offense with two goals and five assists, while Emmet Carroll was outstanding in net with 16 saves.
- The Blue Devils are coming off another superb performance, beating Jacksonville, 23-7, last Friday. Brennan O'Neill had five goals and two assists to earn ACC Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Dyson Williams and Josh Zawada had four and three goals, respectively. Defensively, Duke held the Dolphins to just four goals in the first three quarters with Patrick Jameison making nine saves and allowing only three goals.

Series History
- Duke and Penn are meeting for the 14th time in the programs' histories. The Blue Devils are 6-7 all-time against the Quakers and 2-3 in the past five meetings. Duke is 5-2 against Penn in Durham with the Quakers' last road win against the Blue Devils coming in 1971.
- Five of the past six games, including each of the past three, have been decided by three goals or less. Two were single-goal victories by Penn in 2018 and 2022.
Last Time We Met
- Nine different Blue Devils scored goals to lead Duke to its first win at Penn in program history last year. Defensively, the Blue Devils held Penn to just 12 goals on 56 shots. Brennan O'Neill led all scorers with five points (2g, 3a), while Andrew McAdorey had three goals and an assist. Dyson Williams also had a hat trick. William Helm made 19 saves in goal.
- Duke led by as many as seven in the game and held standout midfielder Sam Handley to just a goal and two assists. Cam Rubin led the Quakers with three goals and two assists, while Dylan Gergar had four points.
Home Sweet Home
- Duke enters Friday's game riding a 14-game home win streak. The Blue Devils went 9-0 at home last season and last lost at Koskinen on April 9, 2022.
- Under head coach John Danowski, Duke is 144-25 in games in Durham. Duke has gone unbeaten at home four times since 2007.

Elite Attack Unit
- Duke's attack unit of Brennan O'Neill, Dyson Williams and Josh Zawada is averaging a combined 17 points per game after four games. They account for 54 of Duke's points this season. No other attack unit has a higher points per game average with Yale's trio coming close at 16.5 after two games.
