DURHAM, N.C. – Duke head football coach Manny Diaz announced Wednesday that defensive lineman Josiah Green has signed a financial aid agreement to attend the institution and join the Blue Devil gridiron program.
Green played in 30 games for Dartmouth over the past three years, guiding the Big Green to a combined record of 17-13 with a share of the Ivy League crowns in 2022 and 2023. This fall, Dartmouth went 8-2 with a 5-2 Ivy mark.
A unanimous All-Ivy selection in 2024, the 6-1, 280-pound Green started all 10 games. He finished the campaign with 49 tackles, 9.0 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks. He ranked second on the team in TFL and fourth in sacks. Green was consistent all season, recording five or more tackles on six occasions while adding at least 0.5 TFL in eight of the 10 contests.
Green, an Indianapolis, Ind., native, will have one season of eligibility remaining beginning with the 2025 campaign. He led a Big Green defense that paced the Ivy League in total defense (337.00 yards/game) and rushing defense (105.70 yards/game).
Making his debut in 2022 after not playing as a first year, Green appeared in all 10 games and booked 25 tackles and 3.5 tackles for lost yardage. As a junior in 2023, he was was voted by the coaching staff to receive Dartmouth's Kenneth T. Young Award for his significant contribution to the team. Green was named second team All-Ivy in 2023 after starting all 10 games and leading the team's linemen with 46 tackles, 7.5 tackles for a loss and 1.5 sacks. He also had three quarterback hurries, two pass breakups and a fumble recovery.
During his Big Green career, he totaled 120 tackles, 20.0 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, two pass breakups and a fumble recovery.
