Duke is ranked No. 7 in the Associated Press preseason top-25 poll.
Duke has won all eight meetings with Army since the series returned on Dec. 22, 1996.Â
The Blue Devils and Black Knights played seven times between 1932 and 1939, all in New York, with Duke holding a 4-3 edge in those matchups.
The Blue Devils opened the 2024-25 campaign with a 96-62 home win over Maine on Monday.

Kevin Kuwik is in his second season as head coach at Army West Point. With more than 20 seasons of coaching experience, Kuwik spent the 2022-23 season as an assistant coach at Butler under head coach Thad Matta.
In 2023-24, the Black Knights went 10-22 overall with a 6-12 mark in the Patriot League.Â
The Black Knights return 2023-24 Patriot League Rookie of the Year Josh Scovens, alongside 1,000-point scorer Jalen Rucker to pair with fellow guard Ryan Curry, a 2023-23 Patriot League All-Rookie Team member.
Scovens topped all Patriot League freshmen in points per game (11.9), rebounds per game (5.2), defensive rebounds per game (4.0), and blocks (1.2).
Army trailed by seven points in the second half before scoring 14 unanswered points to pull away for a season-opening victory over UAlbany on Monday.
After shooting under 35% from the field in the first half, the Black Knights connected on 57.1% shots after intermission, including 42.9% from 3-point range in the final 20 minutes.
Scovens topped Army with 22 points, while Rucker and Blake Barker added 12 an 11 points, respectively, and Tate Laczkowski grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.
Last Time Out for the Blue Devils
No. 7 Duke tipped off the 2024-25 season with a 96-62 defeat of Maine inside Cameron Indoor Stadium on Monday, Nov. 4.
The Blue Devils outscored Maine 52-29 in the second half, holding the Black Bears to one field goal in final 10:59 of the contest.
Duke outrebounded the visitors 40-27 overall and dominated the glass in the second half with a 24-9 rebounding advantage.
Six Blue Devils scored in double figures in Monday night's victory, marking the first time Duke has had six double-digit scorers since Feb. 19, 2022, versus Florida State.
Kon Knueppel scored a game-high 22 points, including 15 in the first 16 minutes, shooting 8-of-14 from the field, 3-of-8 from long range and 3-of-3 from the free-throw line.
Cooper Flagg collected 18 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals to become the first freshman in Duke history to have at least 10 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals in their debut.
Khaman Maluach registered six points, six boards and three blocked shots in his collegiate debut.
Maliq Brown grabbed seven rebounds to match Flagg for the game-high on the boards, while also distributing four assists.
Differential from Distance
During Duke's two exhibition games against Lincoln (W, 107-56) and Arizona State (W, 103-47) and the season-opener with Maine (W, 96-62), the Blue Devils have turned the three-point arc into a benefit on both ends of the floor.
In those three outings, Duke averaged 43.0 points from three-point range and shot 43.0% from distance, while the opposition averaged 12.0 points and shot 22.6% from behind the arc,Â
Duke's three-point point differential in the three contests is +93, for an average of +31 per game - not factoring in two four-point plays.
Strength of Schedule
During a six-game stretch (Nov. 12-Dec. 4) before conference action begins, No. 7 Duke plays against four teams that are ranked in the Associated Press preseason top-25 poll (No. 1 Kansas, No. 10 Arizona, No. 11 Auburn and No. 23 Kentucky) and were at least a 4-seed in last season's NCAA Tournament.
Duke plays three true road games before Christmas for the first time since the 1990-91 season.
