DURHAM, N.C. – No. 16 Duke returns home for a midweek tilt, welcoming the Dayton Flyers to Cameron Indoor Stadium Thursday, Nov. 14. Action is slated to get going at 7 p.m., live on ACCNX.
THE OPENING TIP:
- The Blue Devils and Flyers are squaring off for just the third time all-time, the series leveled at 1-1. Thursday's game also marks the first game in Durham with the previous two matchups taking place in Ohio.
- The most recent meeting between the schools took place Nov. 12, 2021, with Duke posting a 70-56 victory.
- Duke features a balanced attack with three players averaging double-digit points. Junior Ashlon Jackson and freshman Toby Fournier are tied for the team high with 12.7 points per game, senior Reigan Richardson rounding out the trio at 12.3.
- and Jordan Wood are also in double figures with the freshman-sophomore duo averaging 11.5 points apiece.
- Duke features 10 players averaging at least 13 minutes per game with five playing 20-plus minutes a night - Ashlon Jackson (28.1), Jadyn Donovan (23.7), Reigan Richardson (21.2), Delaney Thomas (20.9), Taina Mair (20.5).
- Duke's offense has been steady to open the year with the Blue Devils putting up 84.0 points per game on 45-percent shooting.
- Forty-nine of the Blue Devils' 89 field goals have been assisted (.551), equating to 16.3 dimes per game.
- The Blue Devils have wreaked havoc on the defense end averaging 17.3 steals per game and forcing the opposition into 25.3 turnovers a night. Those marks lead the ACC and check in at 12th and 30th, respectively, in the NCAA.
- Duke also ranks in the top-30 nationally in free throw attempts (16th, 20.7) and bench points per game (28th, 36.0).

WREAKING HAVOC:
- Duke has wreaked havoc on the defense end averaging 17.3 steals per game and forcing the opposition into 25.3 turnovers a night. Those marks lead the ACC and check in at 12th and 30th, respectively, in the NCAA.
- Six different Blue Devils have tallied at least five steals on the year with four racking up seven or more. Sophomore Oluchi Okananwa leads the way with 10, classmate Delaney Thomas right behind with nine thefts.
- Junior Ashlon Jackson and sophomore Jadyn Donovan have totaled seven steals apiece while junior Taina Mair and graduate student Vanessa de Jesus round out the group with five each.
A STEADY, BALANCED OFFENSIVE DIET:
- Duke's offense has been steady to open the year putting up 84.0 points per game on 45-percent shooting. The Blue Devils have scored 89, 82 and 80 points in each of the first three games, marking the longest streak of 80-point outings to open the season since the 2014-15 campaign, when Duke opened the year with four straight.
- Duke's balanced offensive attack features three players averaging double digits with seven different players overall reaching double figures thus far.
- Junior Ashlon Jackson and freshman Toby Fournier are tied for the team high with 12.7 points per game, senior Reigan Richardson rounding out the trio at 12.3. Fournier and Richardson are the lone Blue Devils to reach double figures in each of Duke's three games.
- The Blue Devils feature 10 players averaging at least 13 minutes with five playing 20-plus minutes a night - Ashlon Jackson (28.1), Jadyn Donovan (23.7), Reigan Richardson (21.2), Delaney Thomas (20.9), Taina Mair (20.5).
- Duke has looked to make the extra pass as 49 of the Blue Devils' 89 field goals have been assisted (.551) - equating to 16.3 dimes per game.
- Individually, Duke has a trio of players dishing out three-plus assists per night - Mair (3.67), Jackson (3.33), Vanessa de Jesus (3.0).
- Duke has also displayed its knack at getting to the line, checking in 16th nationally with just under 21 free throw attempts per game.
BENCH MOB:
- The Blue Devils have received a huge lift from their reserves early this season, checking in 28th nationally with an average of 36.0 bench points per game.
- Freshman Toby Fournier and sophomore Jordan Wood have led the charge for the Blue Devils off the bench thus far, with the duo combining to average 32.0 points and 13.5 boards per game.
- Fournier has raised her level of play in every game, most recently posting a career performance with 15 points, nine rebounds and two rejections at Maryland (11.10). She opened her collegiate career with 10 points, three rebounds and two steals versus Radford (11.4), then followed it up with a 13-point, four-rebound effort at Liberty (11.7).
- After seeing limited action in a reserve role in 2023-24, Wood has seen a larger role this year and made her presence felt early on averaging 8.7 points and 4.3 boards.
- Wood opened the season with career highs of 13 points and eight rebounds in the season opener versus Radford (11.4), then chipped in 10 points and four rebounds in the win at Liberty (11.7).
- Reigning ACC Sixth Player of the Year Oluchi Okananwa (6.7 ppg, 4.7 rpg) has continued to provide the energy off the Duke bench, picking up right where she left off.
- Okananwa has been a nuisance in the passing lane, averaging 3.33 thefts per game. The sophomore opened the year tying a career high with five takeaways against Radford (11.4), then added two and three, respectively, at Liberty (11.7) and Maryland (11.10).
