DURHAM, N.C. – After leading the program to its strongest campaign in 2024, Duke softball head coach
Marissa Young announced the Blue Devils' 2025 schedule on Friday.
The schedule consists of 52 regular season games across six states, facing 14 teams that made NCAA Tournament appearances last season.
Duke opens the 2025 season at the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I Leadoff Classic, Feb. 6-9 at the Eddie C. Moore Complex in Clearwater, Fla. Duke will face Penn State (Feb. 7), Texas Tech (Feb. 7), Northwestern (Feb. 8) and Mississippi State (Feb. 8), before closing the showcase with a 2024 NCAA Super Regional rematch against Missouri (Feb. 9).
The Blue Devils remain in Florida the following week, traveling to Gainesville, Feb. 14-16 to compete in the Bubly Invitational alongside host Florida, Boston College, Binghamton and Providence.
Continuing action on the road, Duke travels to East Carolina for a doubleheader against the Pirates Feb. 19. A few days later, the Blue Devils will make the cross-country trip to Cathedral City, Calif., to compete in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic Feb. 21-23. Duke will face Nebraska (Feb. 21), Howard (Feb. 21), BYU (Feb. 22), Minnesota (Feb. 22) and UCLA (Feb.23) during the invitational.
Closing the month of February, the Blue Devils host Michigan in the home opener on Thursday, Feb. 27, before welcoming South Carolina for a three-game weekend series Feb. 28-Mar. 2. Duke closes out the five-game homestand with a non-conference matchup against Elon on Mar. 4.
Duke then opens a challenging ACC schedule on the road with a weekend series at Clemson Mar. 7-9. The road swing continues with a midweek battle at Tennessee Mar. 11.
Closing the week, the Blue Devils welcome Syracuse to Duke Softball Stadium Mar. 14-16. Duke stays home the following week, taking on Liberty (Mar. 18) in a non-conference doubleheader and a three-game series with ACC foe Florida State (Mar. 21-23).
A four-game road stretch opens with a conference road series at Louisville (Mar. 28-30) and a single midweek contest against Wilmington Apr. 2. Duke then returns home to take on North Carolina Apr. 4-6.
Following that series, Duke travels to Pittsburgh, Pa., to face the Panthers in a weekend series at Vartabedian Field Apr. 11-13. The Blue Devils have a quick turnaround, hitting the road for another tough non-conference matchup against Charlotte (Apr. 15), before hosting Notre Dame Apr. 17-19.
Duke closes the regular season on the road against Campbell (Apr. 23) in a midweek, before making the short trip to Raleigh to face NC State (Apr. 25-27) in the final matchup of the season.
Boston College will play host to the 2025 ACC Tournament in Chestnut Hill, Mass., from May 7-10.
Duke is coming off its strongest campaign in 2024, setting a program record with a 52-9 overall ledger, capturing its second ACC Championship, third straight NCAA Super Regional appearance and advanced to the Women's College World Series for the first time in program history.
