DURHAM, N.C. – Senior Duke diver
Margo O'Meara was tabbed as the ACC Women's Diver of the Week on Tuesday afternoon, following her record-setting performance in the three-meter dive against Virginia Tech.
A year removed from her second CSCAA First Team All-American performance at the NCAA Championships, the St. Louis, Missouri, native began her senior campaign in the three-meter event at the Taishoff Aquatics Center. O'Meara collected a score of 380.18, boasted by her Reverse two-and-a-half Somersault Pike in round three to win her first event of the season and break a pool record.
The previous record, held by former Blue Devil
Abby Johnston, stood since 2010 at 377.85. Johnston holds the program record in the event, tallying a score of 439.70. O'Meara improves on her three-meter top performance from the 2021-22 season, jumping from 377.70 to 380.18.
O'Meara and the Blue Devils are back in action on Friday evening at the Taishoff Aquatics Center hosting South Carolina for a dual meet. Diving begins at 4 p.m. with swimming starting at 5 p.m.
