DURHAM, N.C. – Following a record-breaking week with the Duke women's soccer team, graduate student
Maggie Graham was voted the ACC Offensive Player of the Week, along with being named the National Player of the Week by TopDrawerSoccer on Tuesday.
Â
Graham and the top-ranked Blue Devils collected a pair of very impressive victories last week on the road in California. Duke opened action Thursday at seventh-ranked Stanford and registered a 4-1 victory snapping a 34-match home unbeaten streak for the Cardinal. The four goals equaled the most allowed in program history for Stanford at home.
Â
Duke closed the week with a come-from-behind victory at 17th-ranked California on Sunday as the Blue Devils scored two goals over the final 20 minutes, including one at the 86:45 mark to win the match.Â
Â
A native of Atlanta, Ga., Graham featured a record-breaking day at Stanford as she totaled just the eighth hat trick in Duke history and only the second in ACC regular season action. The midfielder also added an assist as well for seven points in the match. Graham's seven points tied a Duke match record and was a school-record in ACC regular season action.Â
Â
Her two goals in the first 4:07 were the two quickest goals in program history and her two goals in a span of only 14 seconds was also a school record.Â
Â
At California on Sunday, Graham played the entire 90 minutes and was a key component in the Blue Devils controlling the midfield in the 2-1 victory. Â
Â
Graham has come on strong in her final season in Durham with a career-best and team-high eight goals and 21 points. Three of her eight goals have been game-winners as well.Â
Â
As a team, the Blue Devils have won 11-straight matches and feature an 11-1 overall and 6-0 ACC ledger. Duke will next host Boston College Saturday, Oct. 19 at 5 p.m., live on ACC Network Extra.Â
