Duke has won six of the last 10 meetings with Louisville, including three straight.Â
The Blue Devils lead the all-time series 13-9.
In the last clash at the KFC Yum! Center on Jan. 29, 2022, Duke beat the Cardinals, 74-65, behind 22 points on 5-of-5 three-pointers from AJ Griffin.
Freshman guard Caleb Foster tallied season highs of six rebounds and three steals, along with 16 points and five assists versus Pittsburgh on Jan. 20.
Tyrese Proctor and Jeremy Roach are second and fourth, respectively, in the ACC in assist/turnover ratio. Among national leaders, Proctor ranks 21st (3.24), while Roach is 23rd (3.19).
Among ACC leaders, Kyle Filipowski ranks fourth in scoring (18.2 ppg), fifth in rebounding (8.7 rpg), sixth in blocked shots (1.9 bpg) and eighth in field goal percentage (.516).
Jared McCain's team-high 20 points against Pittsburgh on Saturday marked the fourth time in the last nine games the freshman guard has scored 20 points or better.
Duke ranks ninth nationally in fewest turnovers (9.3 per game) and 10th in assist/turnover ratio (1.76).
Louisville is second in the ACC and 40th in the nation with 16.5 free throws made per game.

Former Duke All-American and assistant coach Nolan Smith is in his second year on the staff at Louisville. Smith's father, the late Derek Smith, won a national championship with the Cardinals as a player in 1980.
Nolan Smith was the ACC Player of the Year for the Blue Devils in 2011 and returned to his alma mater in 2016, spending two seasons as the team's special assistant before his promotion to director of basketball operations & player development in March 2018. He was promoted again in April 2021 to assistant coach.
The Blue Devils have used five different starting lineups in 17 games this season.
Duke is 8-11 overall on Jan. 23, and has dropped two consecutive outings on this date, both on the road.
Last Time Out
No. 7 Duke dropped a conference matchup to Pittsburgh, 80-76, on Saturday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium, the Blue Devils' first ACC home loss in the past two seasons.
Duke connected on 11 3-pointers versus Pittsburgh, the third consecutive game the Blue Devils have made double-digit triples.
Jared McCain finished with a team-high 20 points, his fourth game of the season reaching the 20-point mark.
McCain was 3-of-8 from beyond the arc, his seventh career game with at least three 3-pointers. Duke is now 6-1 when he reaches that standard.
Kyle Filipowski shot 50% from the field (5-of-10) and from long range (3-of-6), and converted 6-of-7 free throws to finish with 19 points.
Caleb Foster accumulated 16 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals. The freshman guard's rebound and steal totals are both career highs.Â
Flip Doubles Up on Double-Doubles
Sophomore Kyle Filipowski has tallied double-doubles in six of Duke's last 12 games, moving his career total to 22 double-doubles in 53 games played.
So far this season, the Westtown, New York, native has upped his shooting average compared to his freshman campaign. The 7-footer is averaging 18.2 points per game while shooting 51.6% from the field, up from 44.1% during the 2022-23 season.
Filipowski scored 26 points on 11-of-12 shooting from the field at Pittsburgh (Jan. 9), marking the best shooting performance by a Blue Devil with at least 10 attempts since Zion Williamson finished 13-of-13 against Syracuse on March 14, 2019.
He amassed a career-high 30 points with 13 boards, four assists, two blocked shots and two steals without committing a turnover versus Georgia Tech (Jan. 13), becoming the first Duke player with a 30-point double-double and no turnovers in the past 40 seasons.
The sophomore center was just two assists shy of triple-double with 28 points, 12 rebounds and eight helpers versus Hofstra (Dec. 12).
The versatile big is also well on pace to step up his assist and block numbers. Filipowski has tallied 50 dimes (56 in 2022-23) and has already blocked 32 shots, after swatting a total of 26 attempts during his freshman year.
Taking Care of the Rock
Through 17 games, Duke has been one of the best teams in the country at limiting turnovers.
Duke ranks ninth nationally in fewest turnovers (9.3 per game) and 10th in assist/turnover ratio (1.76).Â
According to KenPom, the Blue Devils currently have the seventh-lowest turnover percentage nationally, coming in at 13.5%.

Emergence of McCain
After averaging 7.6 points per outing in the first eight games of the season, Jared McCain has reached the 20-point mark in four of the last nine games, shooting 52-of-103 (50.5%) from the field, 24-of-57 (42.1%) from beyond the arc and 18-of-21 (85.7%) from the free-throw line to average 16.2 points per contest during that stretch.
The freshman guard scored a career-high 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the field, including 4-of-9 from long distance, to lead Duke to a 106-69 victory over Queens (Dec. 30).
Against Syracuse (Jan. 2), McCain nailed all four of his 3-point shots after intermission to finish with 18 points.Â
McCain has made two 3-pointers or more in 12 games this season. The Blue Devils are 11-1 when McCain makes at least two triples.
Scheyer Tops Duke Head Coaches in First 50 Games
Jon Scheyer coached his 50th game at the helm of the program at Notre Dame on Jan. 6.Â
Scheyer posted a record of 38-12 in his first 50 games – the most wins by a Duke head coach through their first 50 contests.
Duke's Three-Point Streak
Duke has connected on at least one three-pointer in 1,206 straight games, the second-longest streak nationally.
It has been more than 30 years since Duke was held without a three-point field goal -- Dec. 30, 1989, versus Hawai'i.
