DURHAM – Duke men's soccer forward
Jai Bean has been called up to the Bermuda Senior Men's National Team, the association has announced. Bean is on the 23-player roster for the country's upcoming Concacaf Nations League group stage matches against French Guiana on Friday, Sept. 8Â and against Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
"We're excited for Jai to be playing first-team international games in the Concacaf League this week for Bermuda," said head coach
John Kerr. "He's an exciting young talent, has already scored his first international goal for his country and showcased his abilities this past summer with the U23 team." Â
A native of Hamilton, Bermuda, Bean made his international debut earlier this year. He was selected to the starting XI for Bermuda's Nations League group play match against Guyana on March 25, 2023, and started again four days later against Haiti – a match in which he scored his first international goal. This past summer, ahead of his junior season at Duke, Bean played for the Bermuda U23 team, scoring several goals – including a hat trick against Froya during a group play match at the 2023 Island Games.
Bermuda and French Guiana are scheduled to play at Dame Flora Duffy Sports Complex in Hamilton, Bermuda on Friday afternoon. The match on Tuesday, Sept. 12 between Bermuda and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines will be played at Arnos Vale Sporting Complex in Kingstown, St. Vincent.
