• No. 14 Duke returns home for its final regular season non-conference contest at Koskinen Stadium on Thursday as the Blue Devils (2-2-0) host East Carolina (4-1-1) at 7 p.m.
• Thursday's match versus ECU will be aired live on ACC Network Extra with Dean Linke (PXP) calling the action.
• The match on Thursday will be K9s in Koskinen so bring your furry friend and watch some soccer.
• Coming off three straight NCAA Tournament quarterfinal appearances, Duke returns five starters --
Maggie Graham,
Katie Groff,
Olivia Migli,
Kat Rader and
Emily Royson -- and 15 letterwinners off its 15-5-3 squad from 2022.
• Duke welcomes the No. 6 overall recruiting class with eight freshmen and three transfers. In the final TopDrawerSoccer.com (TDS) class of 2023 rankings, the Blue Devils featured four players in the top-40 of the ledger –
Cameron Roller (5),
Mia Minestrella (13),
Kiera Clemens (26) and
Phoebe Goldthwaite (38). The reigning Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year,
Leah Freeman, from Oregon along with two-year starter
Kati Druzina (Notre Dame) and
Julia Saunicheva (UCLA) also transferred in.
• Over the last two seasons, Duke has lost six student-athletes that have gone on to play in the NWSL.
STORYLINES/OTHER BLUE DEVIL NOTES
• Senior
Katie Groff is expected to make her 50th career start Thursday against ECU.
• The Blue Devils are 65-6-0 (.916) all-time against non-conference opponents from the state of North Carolina. Duke has won 16 straight matches versus non-conference teams from North Carolina, while outscoring those opponents 58-2. The last loss was to UNC Greensboro in Chapel Hill on Aug. 28, 2009.
• The Blue Devils boast a 59-11-7 record at home at Koskinen Stadium since the start of the 2017 campaign.
• The Blue Devils are coming off attempting a season-low six shots and were shutout on the road at Stanford.
• Duke has scored goals in the first half in the first three games for the first time since the 2017 season. In 2017, the Blue Devils totaled goals in the first half in each of the first seven matches.
• In her first two seasons, when
Kat Rader scores, the Blue Devils feature a 11-1-1 ledger. Rader has scored three of Duke's five goals this season and has 15 over her short career. She became just the sixth Blue Devil to register goals in each of her first three matches to start a season.
• Duke welcomes 11 newcomers to the 2023 roster as head coach

Maggie Graham enters her first season at Duke without her sister, Delaney, as Delaney graduated this past year and is now enrolled in the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tenn., to start the process of being a doctor.
• The Blue Devils will need to replace the reigning MAC Hermann Trophy Award winner
Michelle Cooper, after she turned professional following her sophomore season with Duke. In two seasons, Cooper scored 31 goals, added 16 assists and posted 78 points. She scored in 29-of-40 matches.
THE SERIES WITH EAST CAROLINA
• Duke features a 3-0 all-time ledger in the series with East Carolina.
• Last season, the Blue Devils traveled to Greenville, N.C., and came away with a 1-0 victory.
• The first match between the two squads was in 1994 in a match played in Charlotte where Duke won 5-1.
• In matches played in Durham, the Blue Devils feature a 1-0 record with a 5-0 victory in 2021.
SCOUTING THE PIRATES
• ECU owns a 4-1-1 ledger to open the season, including a four-match winning streak.
• The Pirates have eight different players that have scored a total of 10 goals.
• Goalkeeper Maeve English owns four shutouts in six matches and allowed only one goal over the last five contests.
DUKE VS. THE AAC
• The Blue Devils are on a six-game winning streak against American Athletic Conference teams and holds a 16-4-1 record against all teams.

• The Blue Devils will play their fourth home match of the 2023 campaign and features a 2-1 ledger in those contests this season.

BLUE DEVILS ALLOWING GOALS
• Duke has given up eight goals through four matches, including seven in a span of games against Southern California and Stanford.
• The eight goals allowed through four matches are the most since the 2004 season when Duke allowed nine. The Blue Devils went on to register seven straight shutouts that season, after giving up nine goals in four matches.
• The nine goals in 2004 and the eight allowed in 2023 are the two highest totals to start a season in Duke history.
RADER IN ELITE COMPANY
• In the first three matches to open the season, sophomore
Kat Rader scored for the Blue Devils. She totaled three goals over the first three matches to open the season.
• She tallied a goal at the 12:35 mark of the first half against Southern California, at 10:39 versus West Virginia and 75:38 against Wisconsin.
• Rader now owns 15 goals over her 27-game career at Duke.
