DURHAM – The Duke women's basketball program has rounded out its support staff with the hiring of Kiaira Cooper as creative director and Cody Stratton as video coordinator.
Cooper joins the staff following three seasons at Cal where she served in a similar role as the director of creative video. There, she was responsible for the strategy and development of video content that showcased student-athletes, special events, player and coach features and Cal Athletics that was utilized for social media, web and traditional media, as well as the support of recruiting efforts and in-game entertainment.
Prior to her time with the Golden Bears, Cooper served as Assistant Communications Director at Kansas from 2019-21 working primarily with women's basketball, tennis and rowing. As part of her duties, she developed and executed content strategy focusing on growing engagement of her team's social media platforms, served as a creative director around content creation, produced written and visual media to promote student-athletes and teams and collaborated with various departments to help market her respective teams.

There, she managed social media accounts and websites for her teams, pitched player and team features to external media and developed written materials such as media guides and record books and marketing materials. She also led a successful campaign to land a women's basketball player a spot in the 2019 State Farm College Slam Dunk and 3-Point Championships on ESPN during the 2019 NCAA Men's Final Four.
In addition to her previous stops, Cooper assisted the NCAA's social media team as a video producer at the 2023 Women's Final Four. Her work filming and editing content for the NCAAMarchMadnessWBB channels helped lead to record engagement across their respective platforms. She is a recipient of the NCAA Ethnic Minority and Women's Grant and has participated in several conventions including the NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar, Women Leaders Symposium and College Sports Communicators, formerly known as CoSIDA.
Cooper received her master's degree in business administration with a concentration in sports administration from Belhaven University in May of 2016 and her bachelor's degree with a minor in sport management from Covenant College in May of 2014, where she was also a member of the women's basketball team.

During his time with the Wildcats, Stratton oversaw all aspects of the program's video operations, utilizing SportsCode Elite to live code games and practices to produce output reports with analytical metrics.
Some of his other responsibilities included assisting the coaching staff on the floor during practices and workouts, creating and posting social media content as well as assisting the program's director of operations with travel, summer camps and team community service events.
Before his stint at ACU, Stratton spent a year with Global Sports Analytics (GSA) where he served as the lead video scouting intern for several of the company's clients. With GSA, Stratton worked and consulted with FIBA professional basketball teams in Germany, Belgium and the EuroLeague, assisted with advanced scouting of opponents through video editing, play diagramming, creating analytics reports and created player scouting reports and breakdown videos of upcoming overseas rookies and free agents from NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NBA G League and overseas professional teams, among other things.
Prior to his time with GSA, Stratton spent three years as a student manager for the University of Central Missouri's men's basketball team. He has also served as a camp counselor at basketball camps with Iowa State, Creighton, and Drake.
