On Monday, September 4, the 2023 Duke football season kicks off as the Blue Devils host Clemson on Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium at 8 p.m. In preparation for this nationally televised game on ESPN, we want to provide important details about arrival and stadium entry.
For comprehensive information about Duke football game days, including accessibility accommodations, stadium services, maps and more, please visit www.goduke.com/FBgameday. Stay tuned to www.goduke.com for updates, features and game day information.
For real-time operational, parking and traffic updates on September 4, follow Duke Game Operations on Twitter (@Duke_GAMEDAY).
Stadium gates will open at 6 p.m. We strongly recommend ARRIVING EARLY to bypass the rush that typically occurs just before kick-off. Starting at 6 p.m., all concourse amenities, services and the Jr. Blue Devils Skills Challenge will be available. Furthermore, Blue Devil Tower, catering to premium seating guests, will welcome visitors at the same time.
For a comprehensive overview of available parking lots, refer to the Duke vs. Clemson Pregame Parking & Traffic Map. To stay informed about any additional parking and traffic alerts during the game week and on the actual game day, visit www.goduke.com.
Ensure a hassle-free entry by adding your digital parking pass and tickets to your mobile wallet before arriving on campus. This simple step will expedite the scanning process at lot entrances and stadium gates.
Anticipate heavy traffic on the surrounding roadways as fans gather for the game. Arriving early and carpooling are both encouraged to minimize delays.
To navigate campus effectively, rely on the guidance of Duke Athletics, Parking and Transportation Services and Duke Police. They recommend following the prescribed routes for both Iron Duke Parking Lots and General Public Lots, both before and after the game. During your time on campus, adhere to directions provided by uniformed officers and staff, as well as information displayed on electronic signage. Keep in mind that traffic control officers may be unable to respond to inquiries in order to prevent traffic congestion.
Please note that due to ongoing construction, access to Chapel Drive from the roundabout on Campus Drive is restricted solely to authorized university vehicles.
When the game concludes, consult the Duke vs. Clemson Postgame Traffic Map for exit routes designed to efficiently guide vehicles from lots to major roadways. These routes may not be the most direct path initially, but they are designed to facilitate smooth traffic flow. As you move around campus, follow the direction provided by uniformed officers and traffic control staff.
Opt for convenient Rideshare options and enjoy a drop-off right by the Powers Gate. Frank Bassett Drive has been designated a drop-off/pick-up location for Rideshare Services with visible logos. Access to Frank Bassett Drive is available from NC 751/Cameron Blvd., to Science Drive; please note that there is no access from the Grounds Lot. Kindly be aware that any attempts to drop-off or pick-up at alternative locations near the stadium will not be allowed and will be redirected to this specified area. It's important to note that this location is exclusively for 20-minute drop-off and pick-up, and game day parking is not permitted here.
Plan to arrive early to secure your tailgating space in the designated surface lots. Tailgating is allowed exclusively in these surface lots. Please remember that tailgating is prohibited in parking garages, including the roof, as well as on any greenspaces within Duke Medical Center.
To ensure fair use of space, please note that one vehicle should occupy only one parking space. We kindly request your cooperation with Lot Attendants and Tailgate Teams, who work diligently to maximize parking availability for all attendees. Tailgate setups cannot obstruct pedestrian walkways or vehicle lanes.
The General Public Park & Walk Lots are divided into color-coded zones for easier wayfinding. No parking fees apply. To find the best route from your parking lot to the nearest stadium gate, consult the Duke vs. Clemson Pedestrian Routes Map. Directional signs will guide you along recommended pedestrian routes, ensuring a smooth path from all locations.
The General Public Courtesy Shuttles from Yellow Zone Lots should be expected to experience high rider volumes. These shuttles operate in continuous loops from parking areas to Duke Chapel and will take around 30 minutes for a roundtrip. Walking from Yellow Zone parking areas to Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Pregame shuttle pick-up points are situated on Yearby Avenue. Shuttle service begins at 3 p.m., with full operations beginning at 5 p.m. Shuttles operate on a 30-minute frequency and offer drop-off/pick-up at Duke Chapel.
RV/OV Parking is located in the GC Valet Lot on Yearby Avenue. To secure your RV/OV Parking spot, it's recommended to make an online purchase in advance of game day through Duke Parking & Transportation Services at https://my.parking.duke.edu/events. The cost for RV/OV permits is $50, and it's important to note that no cash purchases are accepted, including at the lot entrance on game day.
The GC Valet Lot will be available exclusively for RV/OV parking on Sunday, September 3Â from 6-9Â p.m., and on Monday, September 4Â from 7Â a.m. All RV/OV vehicles must be cleared from the lot by Tuesday, September 5Â at 5Â a.m.
Bus Parking is designated at the University Communications Lot on Chapel Drive, conveniently accessible from Campus Drive. A limited number of bus parking spaces are available and should be reserved in advance by reaching out to the Duke Ticket Office. Buses conducting drop-offs and pick-ups of guests (i.e. without tailgating activities) will be accommodated free of charge. However, buses hosting group tailgates or similar activities will be categorized as RV/OVs, necessitating parking at the GC Valet Lot and obtaining an RV/OV permit (please refer to RV/OV Information above).
The bus drop-off/pick-up point is situated at the roundabout on Towerview Road, accessible via Duke University Road. After dropping off guests, buses will be directed to the University Communications Lot by making a left turn onto Duke University Road, followed by left turns onto Anderson Street, Campus Drive and Chapel Drive. Buses are allowed to pick up their guests at the roundabout and should be staged at the commencement of the fourth quarter. Importantly, all buses will be positioned facing Duke University Road for a smooth departure.
For additional information on stadium accessibility accommodations and services, please refer to the complete Duke Football A-Z Game Day Guide or or get in touch with our disabilities coordinators at (919) 668-1267.
All accessible seating locations are designated and ticketed seating areas that can be purchased or exchanged through the Duke Ticket Office, either in advance or on game day. To learn more about accessible seating, please consult the Accessible Seating Policy and Accessible Seating Map.
Expect the use of stadium lighting effects on game day. If you suffer from epilepsy or are sensitive to other visual light stimulation effects, we advise you to see our stadium medical staff at the concourse First Aid stations positioned behind Section 3, 19 and 28, as well as on each floor of the Blue Devil Tower, for assistance.
If you need to pick up tickets from General Will Call on game day, please visit the Duke Ticket Office at the Scott Family Athletics Performance Center, situated outside the Bostock Gate and across from Cameron Indoor Stadium. We recommend arriving early – the Duke Ticket Office will be open to assist guests from 5 p.m., onwards.
For ticket assistance, head to the Wilson Gate Ticket Booth, Bostock Gate Ticket Booth and Powers Gate Ticket Booths before entering the stadium, starting at 6 p.m. Once you're inside Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium, you can find ticket assistance at the Bostock Gate Guest Services Desk, located behind Section 18.
If you have more questions about game day tickets or need additional information, please contact the Duke Ticket Office at (919) 681-BLUE (2583).
Please be aware that Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium has a Clear Bag Policy. All bags and purses must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and no larger than 12" x 12" x 6".
