DURHAM – Duke senior Graham Barton and redshirt seniors Jalon Calhoun andDeWayne Carter were named to the 2023 Preseason All-ACC Team, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced Wednesday morning.

The preseason team was determined by 176 media voters.

Barton returns for his third season as Duke's starting left tackle and was tabbed a preseason All-America selection by Athlon Sports (2nd team), Phil Steele's College Football Preview (2nd team) and Walter Camp (Honorable Mention).

In 31 career games (30 starts), he has amassed 2,160 snaps. During the 2022 campaign, the Brentwood, Tenn., native was selected an honorable mention All-American by Phil Steele Publications and a first team All-ACC honoree. Barton anchored an offensive line unit that ranked first in the ACC in sacks allowed (17) and tackles for loss allowed (51).

Calhoun, a four-year starter at wide receiver, returns for his final season and was named a preseason All-ACC selection by Phil Steele's College Football Preview (1st team), Athlon Sports (2nd team) and Pro Football Focus (2nd team). In 48 career games (45 starts), he has 203 receptions for 2,360 yards (11.62) and 13 touchdowns.

The Greenville, S.C., native has 43 games with two-plus receptions, including a career-high 11 catches against Wake Forest in 2022. Additionally, he became the 11th Duke player to reach 2,000 career receiving yards and the first player to register 700 yards receiving in back-to-back seasons since T.J. Rahming in 2017 and 2018. Calhoun enters 2023 fourth all-time in most games with five-plus pass receptions (22), fifth in career receptions, seventh in touchdown receptions of 20-plus yards (9), ninth in career receiving yards, tied for 10th in both career touchdown receptions and most 100-plus yard receiving games (5).

Carter returns for his third consecutive season as Duke's starting defensive tackle. The three-time team captain has compiled 86 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, 11.0 sacks, seven caused fumbles, three fumble recoveries, 11 quarterback pressures and seven pass breakups in 39 career games.

The Pickerington, Ohio, native has recorded two-plus tackles in 19 career games, including a career-high nine tackles against Georgia Tech in 2022. He posted a career-high 2.0 tackles for loss in four contests against North Carolina (2021 & 2022), Boston College (2022) and Wake Forest (2022). Additionally, Carter enters the 2023 campaign tied for fourth in program history for caused fumbles and just 0.5 sacks shy of becoming the 17th Duke player with 11.5 career sacks.
Duke is set to kick off the 2023 season at home on Monday, Sept. 4, when it welcomes Clemson to Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium.
