DURHAM – The 36th season of women's soccer at Duke and the 23rd under the direction of head coach
Robbie Church is set to kick off Tuesday with preseason practice starting on campus.
Practice begins Tuesday morning and the Blue Devils will have six days of workouts prior to hosting Wake Forest on Monday, Aug. 7 at 7 p.m., in an exhibition match. Admission is free and contested at Koskinen Stadium.
Duke features the final exhibition on the road at South Carolina Aug. 10, before opening the season Thursday, Aug. 17 versus West Virginia in Durham, N.C. Match time is slated for 7 p.m.
The Blue Devils are coming off advancing to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals for the third straight year in 2022 and totaling a 15-5-3 ledger. Duke returns five starters --
Maggie Graham,
Katie Groff,
Olivia Migli,
Kat Rader and
Emily Royson. Rader, a native of Stuart, Fla., is coming off an impressive rookie season with 12 goals and five assists, while earning ACC Freshman of the Year accolades.
Duke returns a total of 15 letterwinners and welcomes in the No. 6 overall recruiting class with eight freshmen and three transfers.
The Blue Devils open the season with three straight home matches against West Virginia (Aug. 17), Southern California (Aug. 24) and Wisconsin (Aug. 27). Season tickets are on sale and can be purchased
