The Blue Devils reached new heights, earning their third-consecutive bid to the NCAA Softball Championships, hosting the first Super Regional at Duke Softball Stadium and set numerous single-season records during their 2023 campaign. Freshman standout
D'Auna Jennings also became the program's fourth All-American after earning NFCA second team honors.
DUKE FINISHES SEASON RANKED IN TOP-10
Duke softball secured its highest final national rankings after reaching the NCAA Super Regional for the second consecutive year. The Blue Devils set a program record in wins after finishing with a 48-12 record.

FOUR BLUE DEVILS NAMED IN D1SOFTBALL D100 PLAYER RANKINGS
Following a record-setting 2023 campaign, sophomore
Ana Gold and the freshmen trio of
Cassidy Curd,
D'Auna Jennings and
Aminah Vega were named to the D1Softball D100 player rankings. Leading the way for Duke was Gold, checking in at No. 51, followed by Curd at No. 68, Jennings at No. 76 and Vega at No. 94.
JENNINGS GARNERS NFCA ALL-AMERICA HONORS
The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) revealed the 55 student-athletes selected to the 2023 NFCA Division I All-America teams with
D'Auna Jennings earning second-team honors. She is the fourth Blue Devil in program history to earn All-America recognition, joining
Jameson Kavel (2022),
Peyton St. George (2022) and
Deja Davis (2021).
DAVIS TABBED CSC ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN
The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its 2023 Softball Academic All-America Teams with graduate student
Deja Davis earning first-team honors. She is the second Blue Devil in program history to earn CSC Academic All-America recognition, joining
Jameson Kavel in 2022.
TUCCI/NFCA FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR FINALISTS
Duke standouts
Cassidy Curd and
D'Auna Jennings became the first two Blue Devils to represent the program as top-10 finalists for the 2023 TUCCI/NFCA Freshman of the Year. Jennings was later named one of the top three finalists for the award.
Duke and UCLA were the only two programs with a pair of honorees.

The Blue Devils set a program record with six players earning NFCA Southeast All-Region recognition. Graduate student

Curd, Jennings and Vega were also selected to the All-ACC freshman team. In program history, Duke has now had five players garner All-ACC freshman team accolades after the rookie trio of join
Rachel Crabtree (2018) and
Peyton St. George (2018).
IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
Duke earned its third-consecutive bid to the NCAA Softball Championship after being selected as the No. 8 seed and earned hosting rights for the NCAA Super Regional round for the first time in program history.
Duke is 8-7 all-time at the NCAA Championship and have outscored opponents 58-45 during the national tournament.
40+ WIN SEASON
Duke set a program record in wins after it's ACC semifinal victory over No. 9 Clemson. The Blue Devils earned their 48th win of the year in the Durham Regional final against Charlotte before falling to No. 7 Stanford in the NCAA Super Regional to close out the season with a 48-12 ledger. The Blue Devils have now registered 40-plus wins in each of the last three seasons.
AGAINST RANKED OPPONENTS
The Blue Devils faced seven top-25 teams in their first 10 games and held an 8-7 record against nationally-ranked opponents this season. Duke is 22-40 all-time against ranked opponents, including a program-high eight wins in 2023.
REWRITING THE RECORD BOOK
D'Auna Jennings wrapped up her first year in Durham in strong fashion, setting school single-season records in batting average (.462) and hits (80) and ranks sixth nationally in both categories. The starting centerfielder also placed second all-time in stolen bases with 21 on the year and carried a program-high 17 game hitting streak into the NCAA Regional.
Left-handed pitcher
Cassidy Curd became the first player in program history to reach 100-plus strikeouts during their initial season and finished with 159 on the year. The freshman also became the first rookie to throw a no-hitter at the ACC Tournament and recorded the sixth overall at the postseason event. Curd tallied Duke's third no-hitter of the year and first solo seven-inning no-no in program history.
Ana Gold tallied 19 home runs to set the school record for single-season home runs while collecting 56 RBI, which tied
Kristina Foreman's program-best mark in 2022.
Gisele Tapia played a crucial role in moving the Blue Devils' baserunners this season. The senior tallied a program-high 10 sacrifice flies, which has led the NCAA since April 12th.
200 PROGRAM WINS FOR DUKE SOFTBALL
Head coach
Marissa Young guided Duke softball to its 200th program win as the Blue Devils defeated Boston College, 3-0, back on April 15. The victory also marked Young's 200th career win as a Division I head coach after starting the program in 2018.
IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
The Blue Devils first checked in to the national polls at No. 22 to open the season before climbing each week, reaching as high as No. 5 – the highest ranking in program history.
TEAM SIX
After its inaugural season in 2018, Duke has quickly made its mark on the softball world, accumulating 213 wins and finishing above .500 in five of its last six years. The Blue Devils have already recorded an ACC Championship (2021), been to three consecutive NCAA Regionals and advanced to the NCAA Super Regional for the second consecutive year and earned hosting duties for the first time in program history after defeating Charlotte, 4-2, in the championship game of the Durham Regional in May.
