DURHAM – Duke men's soccer head coach
John Kerr has announced the team's schedule for the upcoming 2023 season. The Blue Devils are coming off a 2022 campaign that saw the program reach as high as No. 2 nationally in the United Soccer Coaches' top-25 poll, finish undefeated in the regular season, earn its fourth consecutive top-16 seed in the NCAA Tournament and reach the national quarterfinals before finishing at No. 3 in the final rankings.
The Blue Devils play three exhibition matches in mid-August before opening their 15-game regular season slate at home against Jacksonville on August 25. Duke's four home ACC contests include a matchup against reigning national champion Syracuse and a rivalry tilt against NC State. All games are scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start, unless otherwise noted.
Duke plays two of its three exhibitions away from home, starting on August 12 at UNC Asheville before taking on UNC Wilmington at home on August 15. The preseason concludes at Georgetown on August 18. Times for all three exhibitions have yet to be announced.
The regular season kicks off at Koskinen Stadium on August 25 at 7:30 p.m., when Duke takes on Jacksonville. The Blue Devils then play Furman on August 27 at 2:30 p.m. and Wofford on August 31 to close out the season-opening three-game homestand.
Duke's first road trip of the year takes the Blue Devils to Princeton on Sept. 4. The match is slated to start at 4:00 p.m. and marks the first time in program history the two teams have met at the Tigers' home stadium. The Blue Devils return to Koskinen Stadium for their ACC opener on Sept. 8 against Virginia, before hitting the road for two straight conference fixtures – at Clemson on Sept. 15 and at North Carolina on Sept. 23.
Non-conference play continues on Sept. 26 as Duke welcomes the College of Charleston to Koskinen Stadium. The Blue Devils then remain at home to take on Syracuse, the 2022 National Champions, on Sept. 29.
Duke begins October with an ACC matchup at Notre Dame on Oct. 7 before rounding out the regular season with four of their final five games at home. The homestretch starts against Elon on Oct. 10 before NC State makes the short trip to Durham on Oct. 13. Duke hits the road for the final time against Pittsburgh on Oct 21.
The Blue Devils close out their regular season with home matches against Howard on Oct. 24 and Virginia Tech on Oct. 27.
