James Tallon and
Andrew Healy were named National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America All-Americans on Tuesday morning, the organization announced.
Tallon, a 6-foot-5 left-handed pitcher, has been the Blue Devils' closer this season, breaking the single season saves record on Friday afternoon in Charlottesville, Va., recording his 12th save of the season. In his 23 appearances this season, Tallon posted a 1.64 ERA and allowed just six earned runs to score. He fanned 54 batters to just 11 walks and opponents hit .185 off the lefty.
Healy, a 6-foot-6 left-handed pitcher, began the season out of the bullpen before switching to a midweek role. Towards the end of the season, Healy joined the weekend rotation, posting a 5-1 record on the mound and boasting a 2.32 ERA. The Glen Mills, Pa., native was a perfect 5-0 in the month of April, sporting a 0.00 ERA to earn the Dick Howser Pitcher of the Month award. Healy recorded 45 strikeouts this season and walked just seven batters.
