DURHAM – Three Duke men's tennis singles players and two doubles pairings were listed in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings the organization announced Wednesday.

Garrett Johns secured the No. 18 spot, while rookie
Pedro Rodenas and senior
Andrew Zhang claimed No. 39 and No. 119, respectively.

The doubles tandems of Johns and Rodenas (No. 20) and
Michael Heller and Zhang (No. 49) were ranked as well.

Duke's top singles player, Johns, concluded the year with a 20-15 overall ledger to earn All-America honors. The Atlanta, Ga., native posted a 14-11 dual record to go along with his 8-11 mark against nationally ranked players. In addition, he was a unanimous first team All-ACC selection.

Rodenas quickly made a name for himself during his first season in Durham, earning 2023 ACC Rookie of the Year honors. The Madrid, Spain, native posted a 33-7 overall record, including a 26-2 dual match ledger. He finished a perfect 17-0 on court two and was 9-4 against nationally ranked foes. The rookie wrapped up his season in the NCAA Singles Championship round of 16 to join Johns as an All-American.

Zhang tallied a 22-12 overall mark and a 13-9 dual match record during his senior season. The Bloomfield, Mich., native went 5-7 against ranked opponents, playing on court two and three throughout much of the season.

Johns and Rodenas earned first team All-ACC praise this season after concluding the conference season with an impressive 7-0 mark. Overall, the pair tallied a 23-7 record, including a 17-4 dual ledger. Heller and Zhang registered a 13-8 overall mark on the year with an 8-6 dual match record. Â
As a team, the Blue Devils concluded the 2023 season ranked No. 11 in the final ITA poll, the program's highest mark since finishing the 2015 season at No. 10.Â
