NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Graduate student
Maddie Jenner received All-America honors Thursday from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).
The IWLCA has named the 48 student-athletes who were selected for one of the 2023 Division I All-American teams – honorees are divided into first, second, and third teams. This group of IWLCA All-Americans represent 18 different institutions and are the best athletes in our game this year.
The postseason accolades for Jenner continue to roll in as she was named to the first team for the second consecutive season and was named an All-American for the third time overall.
Jenner returned to the circle in 2023 for her final year of eligibility and cemented herself as the best in the sport.
As a starter in all 18 games, Jenner grabbed 187 draws, 29 goals and nine assists for 38 points to rank third on the team. The Annapolis, Md., native tallied five hat tricks and recorded three-or-more points in nine games, including a career-high five against No. 6 North Carolina. She collected nine ground balls and six caused turnovers, proving she's more than just a draw control specialist.
Over the course of her career, Jenner amassed 791 total draws and as the nation's NCAA active career leader in draw controls per game (9.53) and total draw controls (791). She broke the NCAA Division I all-time draw control record in Duke's win over Gardner-Webb (2/19) in addition to the NCAA single-season draw control record last spring (233). She reached the 100 point and 100-goal milestones this season, adding to her impressive resume.
