DURHAM – The eighth-ranked Duke softball team travels to Farmville, Va., on Wednesday for a midweek contest with Longwood. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m.
Duke (40-8, 16-5 ACC) carries a 12-game winning streak into the matchup after sweeping Georgia Tech (24-25, 6-15 ACC) in a three-game series over the weekend. Freshman
D'Auna Jennings extended her career-best hitting streak to 10 games after finishing 9-for-15 against the Yellow Jackets. Junior pitcher
Jala Wright continues to lead the Blue Devils' pitching staff, earning three wins in her three appearances in the circle last week. Wright worked 18.0 innings and gave up five runs on six hits while striking out eight.
After falling, 9-7, to UNC Charlotte on Wednesday, Longwood (24-16, 11-3) bounced back with a conference series sweep against Winthrop. The Lancers outscored the Eagles, 22-8, while recording 39 hits during the series, the most in any three-game stretch for the team this season. Redshirt-senior Reggie Kanagawa tossed two complete games over the weekend and improves her ledger to 8-2 on the year. Sophomore Jaden Pone led the Lancers' offense, batting 8-for-13 with five RBIs and a home run.

Duke leads the all-time series over Longwood, 3-2, after claiming a 9-0 victory in the Gamecock Invitational in 2021. The Blue Devils tied the series, 2-2, after sweeping the Lancers in a doubleheader at Duke Softball Stadium in 2019. Overall, Duke has outscored Longwood 26-14 in the five all-time meetings.

Ana Gold led the way offensively after finishing 2-for-3 and 1-for-2, respectively. The duo combined to drive in five of Duke's six runs via long balls in the third and fourth innings.
Wright earned the win in the circle after tossing 5.0 innings against the Yellow Jackets while allowing one earned run off two hits.

The Blue Devils conclude the regular season with a three-game road series against ACC foe Pittsburgh beginning on Friday at 6 p.m. All three contests will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
