No. 12 Blue Devils Open ACC Slate with Notre Dame Series Friday

DURHAM- No. 12 Duke Softball hosts Notre Dame in the conference-opening matchup on Friday at Duke Softball Stadium. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m. due to projected inclement weather Friday evening.
The Blue Devils (15-3) have won 12 consecutive games, including seven-straight shutout wins after Wednesday's doubleheader sweep of North Carolina Central. Duke defeated the Eagles in a five-inning contest, 12-0, during the opener before recording an 8-0 five-inning shutout during the nightcap.
Notre Dame enters the weekend with a 10-4 record after five-straight wins in THE Spring Games Tournament in Madeira Beach, Fla., defeating UT Martin, Siena, Dartmouth and FIU twice.

The Fighting Irish tied the all-time series at 6-6 after defeating the Blue Devils, 8-1, last season, tying the largest run margin in the series. The other two games of that weekend series were canceled due to inclement weather in South Bend, Ind.
LAST TIME OUT
No. 12 Duke swept North Carolina Central (0-13) in a doubleheader on Wednesday at Duke Softball Stadium.
The Blue Devils defeated the Eagles in a five-inning contest, 12-0, during game one before recording an 8-0 five-inning shutout during the nightcap.
Sophomore Ana Gold led the offense batting 5-for-7 with four runs and six RBI, including the game-ending RBI-single in game two.
All five of Duke's pitchers saw action in the circle during the two contests with junior Lillie Walker and freshman Cassidy Curd earning wins. Walker threw three innings to open the day and allowed only one hit with two strikeouts. Curd fanned five and gave up just two walks in her 2.0 innings during the second game.

The Blue Devils hit the road for a midweek matchup with UNC Charlotte at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. The first pitch is slated for 5 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
