BUIES CREEK, N.C. – No. 14 Duke softball shut out all four opponents faced in the Campbell Invitational this weekend after it defeated Ohio and Campbell on Sunday, 7-0 and 11-0, respectively.
The Blue Devils (13-3) have now won 10 consecutive games, including its fifth-straight shutout victory. Ohio dips to 3-9 on the year, while Campbell falls to 9-6.
Graduate student
Deja Davis led the Blue Devils during the twin bill, finishing the day 4-for-6 with three RBI and four runs. Juniors
Claire Davidson and
Francesca Frelick also helped Duke's cause on Sunday, going 3-for-5, respectively, in the two games.

Lillie Walker and freshman
Cassidy Curd earned wins in the circle on the day. Walker was perfect during her 3.0 innings of game one and added four strikeouts. Curd fanned a season-best 10 in the nightcap and allowed just one hit during her five-inning complete game.
HOW IT HAPPENED VS OHIO
- The Blue Devils started strong against the Bobcats after posting five runs in the opening two innings and never really looked back.
- Junior Sarah Goddard extended Duke's lead to 6-0 after she crushed a ball to the left centerfield wall in the third for an RBI-triple. Her hit scored sophomore Ana Gold, who walked, stole second and advanced to third on a groundout.
- Goddard rounded out Duke's scoring during the inning when she capitalized on a Bobcats' error during the ensuing at bat for the seventh and final run of the game.
- The Blue Devils only relinquished two hits to the Bobcats over the next three innings to claim the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED VS CAMPBELL
- Just like in game one, Duke put the pressure on early in the nightcap, scoring five runs in the first two innings.
- Davidson led things off after she opened the scoring with an RBI-double in the first inning to score D'Auna Jennings and Davis.
- During her next at-bat in the second, Davidson tallied two more RBI when she singled up the middle to make it a 5-0 ballgame. The Lakewood Ranch, Fla., native finished the contest batting 2-for-3 with four RBI.
- The Blue Devils remained explosive on offense and added five additional runs in the third to ultimately secure the win. Duke registered four hits during the rally.
- Frelick scored Duke's final run in the fourth inning after she reached on a double before being brought home on a single from redshirt-freshman Jada Baker during the following at-bat.
- Curd proved her strength in the circle, retiring six of the first seven batters faced, to hold off Campbell's offense.
NOTES
- Duke extends its winning streak to 10 games and set a new program record for the most consecutive shutout wins.
- The Blue Devils' pitching staff of Walker, Curd, Davidson, Sophie Garner-MacKinnon, and Jala Wright all combined to give up just nine hits throughout the four contests this weekend.
- Curd moves to 4-0 on the year and recorded her first career shutout and complete game.
- After finishing the weekend with three RBI, Davis is now just one RBI shy of 75 in her career.
- Gold, Davis and Aminah Vega all recorded a stolen base in the twin bill for their fifth, third and third stolen base, respectively.

The Blue Devils welcome NC Central for a doubleheader on Wednesday at Duke Softball Stadium. The first game is slated for 4 p.m. with the second to follow immediately after.
