DURHAM – The 10th-ranked Duke women's lacrosse team opens its ACC slate Saturday on the road at fourth-ranked Boston College. Opening draw is set for noon on ACCNX.

Maddie Jenner broke the NCAA Division I all-time draw control record as the 11th-ranked Duke women's lacrosse team cruised to a 24-1 victory over Gardner-Webb Sunday afternoon at Koskinen Stadium. With her 18 draw controls, Jenner now owns 646 for her career, surpassing Jessica Karwacki's 645 (Robert Morris, 2013-16). She added a goal and an assist to round out her day. Offensively, the Blue Devils were led by junior
Katie DeSimone with a career-high nine points from six goals and three assists, while
Maddie McCorkle added a career-high four goals in the outing.
Ainsley Thurston also tallied a career-high three goals as 16 different Blue Devils had a hand in the victory.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Boston College is tabbed No. 4 nationally with a 2-1 overall record, but most recently fell to No. 5 Northwestern (15-14) over the weekend. Saturday will be its fourth ranked opponent this season. Offensively, the Eagles are led by Mckenna Davis with five goals and eight assists for 13 points, followed by Kayla Martello (12pts), Belle Smith (12pts) and Jenn Medjid (10pts). Goalie Rachel Hall returns to the cage this season and sports an 8.11 GAA and a .526 save percentage between the pipes.
STARTING HOT
Duke's offense has been off to a hot start through the first three games of the season with 19.0 goals per game to rank tied for third nationally. The Blue Devils are also sharing the ball extremely well as they have assisted on over half their goals (57G, 30A) with 9.67 assists per game, the fourth-best nationally.
Katie DeSimone (11G, 6A) and
Anna Callahan (6G, 5A) have combined for 28 of Duke's 57 points already this spring. DeSimone's total points are currently ranked eighth nationally while her nine points against Gardner-Webb are tied for fifth.
