GREENSBORO, N.C. - Duke Swimming and Diving moved up the leaderboard in day four of the ACC Championships, behind strong performances on both the men's and women's sides. The Blue Devils' men remained in 10th (228), while the women moved into fifth (574) on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the 200-butterfly, freshman Martina Peroni finished fifth, clocking the third fastest time in program history at 1:55.64. Her time was 23-tenths faster than her previous time this season.
- Freshman Catherine Purnell also shaved time off her 200-butterfly, posting a 1:56.24 and finishing ninth.
- Senior Emma Shuppert collected a top-10 finish on Friday in the 100-backstroke, clocking a time of 52.36. That mark is the fourth fastest time in program lore.
- In the 100-breaststroke, freshman Kaelyn Gridley nearly took the school record away from Sarah Foley (59.39), posting a time of 59.46.
- Graduate student Cole Reznick tallied the fourth-fastest time in program history on Friday in the 100-breaststroke, swimming a 52.91 and collecting a top-10 finish.
- Freshman diver Josie Zillig secured the first podium for the divers this week, finishing third in the women's platform event with a score of 298.90.
- Junior diver Emily Rakestraw collected a fifth place finish in the platform diving event, posting a score of 266.30.
- The relay team of Shuppert, Gridley, Aleyna Ozkan, and Foley broke the school record in the women's 400-medley relay, finishing third with a time of 3:31.35. The time was over a second faster than the mark set by the 2021-22 relay team.
- On the men's side of the 400-medley relay, David Chang, Reznick, Brad Sanford and Coleman Kredich nearly broke the school record as well, clocking in a 3:08.96. The mark was four-one hundredths of a second off the mark set during the 2016-17 season.

- The Blue Devils continue the ACC Championships on Saturday morning with prelims for the 200-backstroke, 100-freestyle, 200-breaststroke and men's platform diving. Prelims will begin at 9:30 a.m., before finals begin at 5:30 p.m.
