GREENSBORO, N.C. - Duke swimming and diving concluded the first day of the 2022-23 ACC Championships, competing in the Men's 1 meter dive, Women's 3 meter dive and relay events. The men sit in ninth with 82 points, while the women also sit in ninth with 107 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Devils began the evening with a fifth place finish in the 200-Medley Relay, as the team of Emma Shuppert, Kaelyn Gridley, Aleyna Ozkan and McKenna Smith clocked a time of 1:36.31. On the men's side, Duke finished ninth with the team of David Chang, Cole Reznick, Charlie Gingrich and Brad Sanford posting a time of 1:25.28, third best performance in program lore.
- In the 800-freestlye relay, the Blue Devils' women sliced four seconds off their entry time, as Sarah Foley, Yixuan Chang, Catherine Purnell and Mia Leko finished fifth with a time of 7:05.18, breaking the school record.
- On the men's side of the 800-freestyle relay, David Hallaron, Coleman Kredich, Blake Johnson and Matthew Knox shaved 11 seconds off their qualifying time, finishing 10th with a time of 6:25.55.

- The Blue Devils continue the ACC Championships on Wednesday morning with prelims for the 500-freestyle, 200-IM, 50-freestyle and women's 1 meter dive. Prelims will begin at 9:30 a.m., before finals begin at 5:30 p.m.
