NEED TO KNOW
•   The 25th-ranked Duke women's soccer team (6-6-3, 2-4-3 ACC) will close the regular season on Thursday, Oct. 26 with a road contest at Louisville (3-9-5, 2-5-2 ACC), which will take place at Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium at 6 p.m.
•   Thursday's match versus the Cardinals will be aired live on ACC Network Extra with Jeff Greer (PXP) and Casey Whitfield (Analyst) calling the action.
•   Duke heads into the Louisville match needing a win or tie to be eligible for the NCAA Tournament with the Blue Devils featuring a 6-6-3 overall ledger. Â
•   The Blue Devils are currently No. 31 in the NCAA RPI heading into the week. Â
•   Over the last six matches, the Blue Devils have been without seven different starters at one point due to injuries/illness--

Olivia Migli,
Baleigh Bruster,
Carina Lageyre,
Nicky Chico,
Elle Piper and
Grace Watkins. Royson has missed six straight games. Â
•   The Blue Devils returned to the United Soccer Coaches Poll this week at No. 25.

STORYLINES/OTHER BLUE DEVIL NOTES
•   Senior
Maggie Graham is expected to make her 50th career start at Louisville.
•   Duke is coming off attempting a season-high 14 shots against Florida State, but allowed a season-high 21 attempts. Â
•   After having only 10 shots on goal in a four-match stretch, Duke had 10 shots on goal against VT and FSU.
•   Duke has been limited to only one goal or less in each of the last eight matches.
•   The Blue Devils had only four corner kicks over the previous four matches, before totaling a season-high 13 at Virginia Tech. Duke entered the Hokies match with only 10 shots on goal in the previous four matches and the Blue Devils tallied six at Virginia Tech.

Kat Rader leads Duke with seven goals on the season and she owns 19 over her short career. Since scoring goals in each of the first three matches, Rader has been limited to four goals over the last 12 contests. She recently registered goals in back-to-back games vs. Pitt and UNC.
•   Rader has tallied 11 of her 19 goals against ACC opponents over her short career. Â
•   Since the late loss to Notre Dame, the Duke offense has struggled. The Blue Devils have attempted only 24 shots on goal and scored four goals in seven games. One of those goals was a penalty kick. In the last seven matches, three of Duke's four goals have come in the second half
•   In both of Duke's home losses to 24th-ranked Southern California and 10th-ranked Notre Dame, the Blue Devils opened the match with a 1-0 lead. Â

Carina Lageyre posted her first two collegiate goals at Boston College in the ACC opener. She went on to be named ACC Offensive Player of the Week as Duke won 2-0 on the road. Â
•   In her first two seasons, when
Kat Rader scores, the Blue Devils feature a 12-3-2 ledger. She became just the sixth Blue Devil to register goals in each of her first three matches to start a season.
•   Over the last two seasons, Duke has lost six student-athletes that have gone on to play in the NWSL.

SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
•   Louisville enters the match with a 3-9-5 overall record and 2-5-2 ACC mark.

•   Addie Chester, Emersen Jennings, Molly Cochran and Lucy Roberts have led Louisville with two goals each. Â
IN THE LAST MEETING
•   Last year, Duke totaled a 4-0 victory over Louisville on Oct. 23, 2022 in Durham. It was senior day for the Blue Devils .

Michelle Cooper scored a goal in the 41st minute to give Duke a 1-0 lead heading into halftime and then added another tally in the 50th minute.

Kat Rader posted two goals in the 66th and 71st minutes.
A WIN WOULD...
•   Move the series record to 5-0-5 in favor of the Blue Devils.
•   Give Duke a 7-6-3 and eligible for the NCAA Tournament by having over a .500 record.

NO ACC CHAMPIONSHIP FOR BLUE DEVILS
•   Duke failed to qualify for the ACC Championship in 2023 marking the first time since 2015 the Blue Devils will not compete in the league event. Â
•   In 2015, Duke featured a 4-3-3 ledger in ACC action to finish eighth. Â
•   Even though the Blue Devils did not compete in the ACC Championship in 2015, Duke went on to advance to the NCAA College Cup in Cary, N.C., before falling in the championship match to Penn State, 1-0.
IN UNFAMILIAR TERRITORY
•   Duke snapped a six-match winless streak at Virginia Tech with a 1-0 victory. The six-match mark was tied for the longest such streak for the Blue Devils in school history. In 2013 and 1996, Duke also had a six-match stretch.
•   The Blue Devils have only one win over the last eight matches, while the Cardinals have only one win over their last seven contests.
