IN UNFAMILIAR TERRITORY
• Duke snapped a six-match winless streak on Thursday at Virginia Tech with a 1-0 victory. The six-match was tied for the longest such streak for the Blue Devils in school history. In 2013 and 1996, Duke also had a six-match stretch.
BIG CONTRAST IN OFFENSES
• Florida State enters the match with a 41-12 advantage in goals. The Seminoles 27 goals in ACC play are more than the Blue Devils have scored the entire season (15).
• Duke has seven different players who have scored goals in 2023, while FSU has 13.
APPROACHING RECORD NUMBERS, UNFORTUNATELY
• Due to Duke's struggle to get its offense going this season, the Blue Devils are approaching some numbers they never want to.
• Duke's 15 goals is approaching a school record for fewest goals scored in a season for the Blue Devils, which is 22 in 2015 and 1998.
• In the Blue Devils' first 35 years as a program, Duke has tallied fewer than 30 goals only four times -- 22 in 2015 & 1998, 26 in 2001 and 29 in 2006.
• Duke has registered only 54 corner kicks, which is nearing the school record for fewest in a season as well. The previous low was 77 in 1999. The Blue Devils have totaled fewer than 100 corner kicks in a season only four times -- 77 in 1999, 85 in 2015, and 92 in 1997 & 2019.
• The Blue Devils have totaled 17 assists on the year, which is the second-fewest in school history if the season ended today. The top-five lowest season assists have been -- 11 in 2001, 18 in 1998, 22 in 2015 & 1991 and 23 in 1996.
GOLDTHWAITE NETS FIRST

• She came off the bench and played a career-high 76 minutes.

RANKINGS
• The Blue Devils fell out of the United Soccer Coaches poll this week for the first time this season.
FREEMAN MAKING STOPS
• Since ACC play has started,
Leah Freeman has registered 29 of her 39 saves over the eight matches. She has come up big keeping the Blue Devils in games and totaled five shutouts on the year.
• Freeman collected a huge penalty kick stop late in the match against North Carolina to keep it a one-goal contest.
• She owns 18 saves over the last four matches, including a season-high six at Pittsburgh and versus No. 7 Clemson.
THE INJURY BUG
• Duke has featured different starting lineups in six out of the last seven matches due to injuries.
• In the Notre Dame match on Sept. 21, the Blue Devils lost their starting center backs --
Emily Royson and
Baleigh Bruster -- to injuries. Both were not on the pitch when the Irish rallied for a pair of goals to win the match.
• Senior
Olivia Migli was also lost late in the Notre Dame match with an injury as well and missed four matches. She returned against Clemson and started, but had to leave after 18 minutes.
• Bruster missed only one match, but Royson has missed the last six contests.
• Senior

AT HOME IN KOSKINEN STADIUM
• Duke is 3-3-2 at home with
Kat Rader scoring six of the Blue Devils' nine goals in those matches.
• The Blue Devils are looking to avoid suffering their fourth loss at home in 2023, which would match the most losses inside Koskinen Stadium since 1991 and 1990.
• Over the last seven seasons, the Blue Devils have totaled a 60-13-9 ledger at home.
• In 23 years under the direction of head coach
Robbie Church, Duke owns a 168-45-31 record at home.
