DURHAM – Duke men's soccer forward
Forster Ajago has been named ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The Navrongo, Ghana native continued his scoring form in the Blue Devils' two matches last week, tallying a goal against both Elon and NC State. Ajago now has six goals over the Blue Devils' last six matches, and demonstrated his aerial skills last week, scoring both goals off a header. He remains the ACC leader for total goals (11), total points (22), goals per game (.917), points per game (1.83) and is tied for second in the league with three game-winning goals. In the national rankings, Ajago is third in the country for total goals and sixth for goals per game. Â
The award is the second for Ajago this season, after being named Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Aug. 29Â and is Duke's fourth total recognition this season, joining his teammates
Julian Eyestone (Sept. 12) and
Nick Pariano (Oct. 3).
The Blue Devils return to action on Saturday, Oct. 21, traveling to take on ACC Coastal foe Pittsburgh at 7 p.m., at Ambrose Urbanic Field. The match proves critical in the ACC standings, with the two teams separated by just one point in the Coastal standings.
