DURHAM –Terrell Smith, Director of the Duke University Future Initiative, announced on Thursday the organization's first advisory group.
Â
The eight-member committee includes Chris Dapolito (Duke Class of 2005), William Hill (2002), Reggie Love (2004), Jamin Pastore (2005), Greg Pritchard (1980), Craig Richardson (1987 & 1992), Mike Scheider (2006), and Ryan Wolitzer (2020).
Â
"I'm beyond grateful to be able to work with these eight guys daily," Smith said. "Their insight and influence have proven extremely valuable in such a short time. Their resumes and personal accomplishments embody what the Future Initiative program is instilling into our student-athletes. I'm excited for the next three years working with this group."
Â
The advisory group will use its experiences, expertise, insight, influence, leadership skills and resources to support Duke football student-athletes' success both on and off the gridiron, as well as after graduation.
Â
"It's been an honor to be associated with the Future Initiative advisory group due to its diverse business experiences and backgrounds," Pritchard said. "In a short period of time, while working with Terrell and his team, we have been able to formulize the Future Initiative into a distinct, competitive advantage for Coach (Mike) Elko and his recruiting efforts."
Â
Group members serve a three-year term, which is renewable for an additional two years by mutual consent. Members will focus on internship and mentorship opportunities for current Blue Devils as well as programing and former player engagements.
Â
"Giving back to Duke football and the University through this program allows me to directly impact the student-athletes sitting in the same seat in which I sat 20 years ago," Hill said. "Through discussions about life experiences, giving career advice, or sitting down and polishing up their resumes, we've been able to enhance the Duke experience for these phenomenal young men."
