Athletes Unlimited Update – St. George Earns First Win

DURHAM – With over half of the Athletes Unlimited Softball season in the books, Duke softball alumna Peyton St. George and current assistant coach Sydney Romero have made more waves in the professional league this past week.
St. George picked up her first professional win over the weekend, helping Team Jaquish defeat Team Chidester, 12-8. In the game, St. George took over to secure the final two innings for starter Sydney Littlejohn Watkins. While not eligible for a save, St. George held Team Chidester in check and struck out one over two innings to secure the victory.
Romero packed the stat sheet for Team Jaquish, hitting .333 with a double, a triple, three walks and a stolen base. Her 314 points accumulated ranked sixth on the team and helped her squad go 2-1 on the weekend.
The two Blue Devils shared the field as teammates for the first time on Saturday, when Romero patrolled the infield while St. George stood in the circle.
Week four of five will get started this weekend, with Romero taken by Team Mulipola, while St. George will return for a second week with Team Jaquish. Romero stands in 29th in total points with 704, while St. George ranks 35th with 674 points.
