St. George Set for Athletes Unlimited Debut

DURHAM – Duke softball alumna Peyton St. George is set to become the program's first graduate to play in a professional softball league, as she gets set for her debut season with Athletes Unlimited.
St. George was drafted in the fourth round on Monday to begin play with Athletes Unlimited on Team Chidester. The recent graduate is not the only Blue Devil who will compete this season, as assistant coach Sydney Romero will also return to compete in the league, after being selected in the third round by Team Zerkle.
The first All-American pitcher in program history heads to professional softball after a sterling five-year career at Duke. St. George went 66-25 with a 2.14 ERA (566 IP) and recorded 641 strikeouts, helping to lead the Blue Devils as a member of the first class of recruits, all the way to the program's first NCAA Super Regional appearance in 2022.
Romero is back for the second half of the AUX season, after hitting .326 (14-for-43) with two home runs and nine RBI over 12 games with Team Ocasio, Team Fischer and Team Zerkle.
Coverage of the entire season will be carried by the ESPN family of networks. After each week, teams will be re-drafted. The full opening week schedule is below.
