DURHAM – Following play in the program's first NCAA Super Regional and the first 40-win regular season in program history, the Duke softball program has announced the team's annual award winners.
Continuing the tradition of the program, the team honored its yearly award winners at the team banquet prior to the start of the postseason.
True Blue
Senior
Deja Davis was tabbed as the winner of the True Blue award. The True Blue award is given annually to the player that best models Duke softball's core values, both on and off the field.
Davis showed tremendous resolve in bouncing back from injuries and played her best softball down the stretch, hitting safely in nine of the final 10 games of the season. The Cerritos, Calif., native hit .318 with three home runs and 15 RBI this season, while going a perfect 10-for-10 in stolen bases.
Newcomer of the Year
Freshman
Ana Gold was named the newcomer of the year, following a remarkable debut campaign in Durham. The Ballston Spa, N.Y., native stepped right into the starting lineup at third base and did not disappoint, hitting .311 with 10 home runs, 36 RBI, 12 doubles, 13 stolen bases and slugging .637.
Her 10 home runs are the most by a Duke freshman and she became just the sixth Blue Devil with 10 or more doubles in a season. Gold also took to the college game quickly on defense, making several sparkling plays throughout the year while ranking second on the team with 74 assists.
Golden Glove Award

Kyla Morris took home the top honors this season, sporting a blemish-free 1.000 fielding percentage across left and center field. The Claremont, Calif., has had a flair for the dramatic, including a diving catch into the wall at Syracuse that landed her a nod as SportsCenter's No. 1 Play in its top-10 nationwide play countdown.
Morris also had a breakout campaign with the bat, hitting .263 with 11 RBI, while stealing an additional 11 bases.

Operating out of the nine-hole for much of the season, Jackson had a career year, hitting .295 with eight home runs and 34 RBI, earning All-ACC honors.
