DURHAM – The fourth-ranked Duke women's tennis team gears up for its NCAA Quarterfinal match this weekend in Champaign, Ill., as the Blue Devils travel 730 miles to the final NCAA Championships site for a matchup against ACC foe and in-state rival No. 6 NC State on Friday, May 20 at 8 p.m. ET.
Duke is looking to advance to the NCAA semifinals for the 11th time in school history and the ninth time with Ashworth at the helm.

A LOOK AT THE BLUE DEVILS:
Awarded the No. 3 overall seed, Duke owns a 22-3 ledger and enters Friday's contest on an 11-match win streak. The Blue Devils are currently ranked fourth nationally – its highest ranking of the season. Throughout the 2022 campaign, the Blue Devils have consistently had at least three individual players and two doubles pairings ranked in the ITA singles and doubles polls.
The Blue Devils currently feature three singles players and three doubles pairs in the ITA rankings.
Chloe Beck leads the way in singles action at No. 9, while senior
Georgia Drummy sits at No. 14. Classmate
Kelly Chen rounds out the trio, checking in at No. 106.
In doubles play, Duke is led by sophomore
Karolina Berankova and Drummy at 17th. Beck and freshman
Ellie Coleman sit at No. 49, while Chen and graduate student
Eliza Omirou are slotted 68th.
Beck concluded the regular season with an unblemished 18-0 overall record (13-0 in ACC) and became the first Blue Devil to go undefeated in conference action since Chen achieved the feat in 2018.
Chen currently sits in sixth on the Duke career singles list with a 132-48 mark and is tied for 17th on the career doubles list at 88-45. Overall, the senior owns a 220-93 combined career singles and doubles record – which is tied for fifth all-time in total victories. Chen needs just one win to take over sole possession of the No. 5 spot.
HOW THEY GOT HERE:
For the 22nd time in program history, No. 4 Duke women's tennis advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals of the team championship after besting No. 13 Georgia, 4-1, on May 13 at Ambler Tennis Stadium.

NCAA HISTORY
Friday marks the Blue Devils' 22nd appearance in the NCAA quarterfinal and third time in the last four years. There was no NCAA Tournament during the 2019-20 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Under head coach
Jamie Ashworth, Duke is 8-7 in the NCAA quarterfinal round.
Duke is playing in its 32nd consecutive and 33rd overall NCAA Tournament in search of its second title in school history. The Blue Devils sport an all-time record of 78-31 (.716) when competing on the national stage.
Ashworth owns a record of 66-23 (.742) in the tournament over his tenure at the helm of the program. Duke last won the NCAA Tournament in 2009 over California in College Station, Texas.
SCOUTING THE WOLFPACK:
NC State (26-5) is playing in its 12th NCAA Tournament and sixth straight under head coach Simon Earnshaw. The Wolfpack defeated William & Mary (4-0), No. 22 Tennessee (4-1), No. 11 California (4-0) in the first three rounds of the 2022 NCAA Championships.
The Wolfpack has four players on the ITA singles rankings along with a trio of ranked doubles pairings – Jaeda Daniel leads the charge at No. 11, with Abigail Rencheli, Alana Smith and Priska Nugroho checking in at 48th, 60th and 83
rd, respectively. In doubles play, the Wolfpack is led by the top-ranked tandem of Daniels and Nell Miller. Amelia Rajecki and Rencheli are listed No. 24.
Historically, Duke has fared well against the Wolfpack with 62 of the 64 meetings going the way of the Blue Devils. The teams met earlier this season, with Duke storming back from a 3-1 deficit for a 4-3 win on April 1 in Raleigh.
Friday marks the just the second time in the all-time series that the Blue Devils and Wolfpack have met in the NCAA Tournament. Duke won the first meeting, 4-0, back on May 10, 2019.

Parking is free for the duration of the championships and is available in the paved lot adjacent to the Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex entrance. Entry to that lot is from S. Goodwin Ave, east of the courts. If that main parking lot reaches capacity, there is an additional paved lot further east of the Tennis Complex, with entry from Florida Ave. It is approximately a 5-minute walk from that further Florida Ave. lot to the courts.

UP NEXT:
Should the Blue Devils win, they'll advance to the national semifinals where Duke would face either No. 2 Oklahoma or No. 7 Texas A&M on Saturday, May 21.
Duke and Oklahoma met for the first time in program history earlier this season, with the Sooners collecting a 4-2 win on Jan. 30. The Blue Devils have taken six of seven matchups in the all-time series against Texas A&M, but the teams haven't met since the 2017 season – a 4-3 Aggie win.
