DURHAM – No. 13 Duke softball (29-5, 11-2 ACC) returns to ACC play this weekend, traveling to Charlottesville, Va., for a three-game series against Virginia.
Saturday's doubleheader against the Cavaliers (22-16, 8-4 ACC) is set for 11 a.m., and 1 p.m., with Sunday planned for 12 p.m. All three games will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.

Duke made it five consecutive run-rule victories, dispatching UNC Greensboro, 11-1, on Wednesday night in Greensboro, N.C.
Kamryn Jackson's grand slam and
Kristina Foreman's three RBI paced another prolific offensive performance for the Blue Devils.
Jala Wright allowed just one hit and no runs over four terrific innings in the circle, keeping the Spartans offense in check. The Blue Devils picked up another win over the Spartans, after winning the first meeting in last season's 2021 NCAA Regional for the first NCAA victory in program history.

Duke vs. Virginia – Duke Leads, 9-1
The Blue Devils will look to get to 10 wins in an all-time series against an ACC opponent for the second time in program history, after reaching the threshold against NC State this season. The Blue Devils have had success against the Cavaliers, outscoring them 59-21 and winning the last five games of the series. Duke is making its first trip to Charlottesville since 2019, where they took two out of three games. Scouting The Opponent
Virginia: At 22-16, the Cavaliers have tallied a sizable amount of ACC wins, checking in at 8-4 in conference, with sweeps of NC State and Boston College and two wins over Notre Dame. The offense is led by Tori Gilbert, who has established herself as a key power bat in their lineup, hitting .291 with 10 home runs and 23 RBI. The Cavaliers have used eight pitchers this season, with Mikayla Hogue and Aly Rayle as the headliners. The duo has combined for 13 wins and five shutouts in 39 combined appearances.

What to Watch For
- Jameson Kavel has been one of the top doubles' hitters in the nation with 12 on the year to rank second in the ACC and 11th nationally. She is closing in on the program's single season record of 15, set by Raine Wilson in 2018.
- Kavel is also on an 18-game on-base streak, the longest streak for her this season and second-longest by a Blue Devil this season, behind Caroline Jacobsen's 21 to open the year.
- Rachel Crabtree is also on a lengthy on-base streak of her own, standing at 14 straight games.
- St. George ranks sixth in the nation in wins with 15 and needs just five more to set a new single season program record.
- In addition to Kavel (doubles) and St. George (wins), the Blue Devils have several other top-25 national marks. Wright ranks 17th in hits allowed per seven innings (3.88) and 21st in ERA (1.38), while Kavel ranks 17th in total bases (89) and 20th in slugging percentage (.890)
- Duke is swinging for the fences early this season, ranking eighth in the nation in home runs per game at 1.74 to lead the ACC. Kavel leads the team with 11 on the season.
- With 59 home runs on the season, the Blue Devils have already blown past their single season record of 47 from last season.
- The Blue Devils continue to lead the ACC in batting average (.334), slugging percentage (.628), on-base percentage (.427) and scoring (7.29 runs per game), while ranking in the top-10 nationally in home runs per game, scoring and on-base percentage.
