GREENSBORO, N.C. – The ACC Office released the annual All-ACC awards for women's golf on Thursday with Duke's
Phoebe Brinker,
Anne Chen and
Erica Shepherd earning accolades. Â
It marks the eighth straight time the Blue Devils have received at least three selections on the All-ACC squad and the 19th time under the direction of head coach
Dan Brooks. Brooks has now featured 40 different All-ACC standouts over his 38 years at Duke and a total of 102 selections. Â
Both Brinker and Shepherd earned All-ACC honors for the second straight year, while Chen received the accolade for the first time in her short career. Â
A native of Wilmington, Del., Brinker became the 16th Blue Devil to win an ACC Individual title as she carded rounds of 70, 65 and 71 for a 10-under, 206. The 7-under, 65, in the second round tied an ACC Championship record. On the season, Brinker has carded a 73.27 stroke average to go along with four top-20 finishes. She has turned in first, T18th and T16th-place finishes over her last three starts this spring. Brinker owns a team-best four eagles on the season, which ranks tied for fourth on Duke's single-season record charts. Â
Shepherd owns a team-best 72.36 stroke average on the year to go along with a team-high four top-five finishes. She is coming off signing for rounds of 75, 68 and 69 for a 4-under, 212, at the ACC Championship, where she placed second overall. Shepherd, who is from Greenwood, Ind., was the only golfer in the field to post two rounds in the 60s and notched her third top-five finish of the season. She also collected a second-place finish at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational, a fourth-place ledger at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate and a tied for fourth finish at the East Lake Cup. Â
Chen, a product of Sugar Land, Texas, recently registered her first collegiate victory at the Chattanooga Classic as she carded rounds of 72, 69 and 66 for a 9-under, 207. She owns a team-best 11 rounds of even or under par on the season along with a team-best 76 birdies. Chen has collected a career-best 72.96 stroke average with three top-10 finishes and four top-20 placements. Over the last three tournaments, she has placed no lower than tied for 26th. Â
In the latest Golfweek Individual rankings, Shepherd is 24th nationally, while Chen is No. 71 and Brinker is No. 72. Â
Duke will next travel to Franklin, Tenn., to compete in the Franklin Regional May 9-11 at the Vanderbilt Legends Club. Â
