DURHAM – Following a 5-1 home-opening weekend that featured the Duke Invitational, Duke softball has jumped up several spots in three of the four major collegiate softball rankings.

The Blue Devils earned their highest ranking in program history in the D1 Softball poll, jumping up two more spots to move into No. 7. The team also jumped back to No. 9 in Softball America's poll, matching the program's high in that metric.

In the most used USA Today/NFCA rankings, Duke remains No. 13 in the nation.

The Blue Devils capped off a return to Duke Softball Stadium with a win over No. 19 Michigan, going 5-1 overall. The team recorded their largest margin of victory in a win over Northern Kentucky and earned three run rule victories.

Rachel Crabtree was named ACC Player of the Week on Tuesday, after hitting .615 with two home runs and five RBI to win the award for the first time in her college career. The Blue Devils also got terrific pitching this week, as sophomore
Jala Wright threw a no-hitter against Army, while graduate student
Peyton St. George went 3-1 with a 0.49 ERA (18.1 IP) and struck out 18 batters.

Duke will open ACC play this weekend, traveling to Atlanta, Ga., for three games against Georgia Tech. The Blue Devils will start the series on Friday at 5 p.m. All three games will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
