DURHAM – With the conclusion of the 2022 ACC Fencing Championship, the Duke fencing team will turn its attention to the postseason as it competes in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional Saturday, March 12 in Princeton, N.J.
COMPETITION
Duke's regional competition will be against Drew, Fairleigh Dickinson (women), Haverford, Johns Hopkins, Lafayette, NJIT, North Carolina, Penn, Penn State, Princeton, Stevens, Temple (women) and Wagner (women).
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Jadwin Gym will open to the public at 8 a.m., with competition beginning at 9 a.m., and estimated completion at 5:30 p.m. Foil and épée will start at 9 a.m., with quarterfinals at 10:30, a break at 12 p.m., semifinals at 1 p.m. and finals at 2:30 p.m.. Women's saber will start at 10 a.m. with a break at 11 a.m., quarterfinals at 1 p.m., semifinals at 2 p.m., and finals at 3 p.m.. Men's saber starts at 11 a.m., with a break at 12 p.m., quarterfinals at 1 p.m., semifinals at 2 p.m. and finals at 3 p.m.

BACK IN 2020
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 regional event was canceled. The last time Duke competed in a regional was 2020 when it hosted the event in Durham as eight current Blue Devils competed.

Alex Gorman (saber),
Finn Hossfeld (foil)
Zoe Superville (foil) and
Bowen Wang (epee) all advanced to the final round of pool action and four of them qualified for the NCAA Championship.
ACC CHAMPIONSHIP ACTION
Six Blue Devils concluded the ACC Championship with medals two weeks ago at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Sarah Lurye brought home silver in women's epee, while
Vivi Buchmann (saber),
Christina Ferrari (foil),
Terence Lee (saber),
Rachel Kowalsky (epee) and
David Tierney (foil) captured bronze medals in their respective events.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Parking: Lot 21, which is outside Jadwin Gym, and Lot 39, which is near the Princeton Boathouse.
Tickets: The event is free to the public. All guests age five and above must be fully vaccinated and present a vaccination card and ID at the door to gain entry. Children under the age of five do not require a vaccination card. A mask must be worn at all times.
Following this weekend, qualifying Blue Devils will compete at the 2022 NCAA Championship March 24-27, hosted by Notre Dame.
