DURHAM – No. 13 Duke softball (18-3, 3-0 ACC) is back in action for another ACC series, hosting NC State for a three-game stretch. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Friday, Mar. 11 at 3 p.m., and 5:30 p.m., with the series finale on Sunday at 4 p.m.
The doubleheader against the Wolfpack (19-3, 2-1 ACC) will be streamed on ACC Network Extra, while the series finale will be televised on ACC Network.

Duke run-ruled a ranked opponent for the first time in program history, downing No. 25 Charlotte, 9-1, on Wednesday night.

The Blue Devils have won the last five meetings against the Wolfpack, dating back to a Feb. 26, 2020 non-conference contest. Duke has outscored the Wolfpack 58-22 over the all-time series, recording one of the program's three no-hitters, when

Claire Davidson combined to win a 7-0 game. In the last meeting between the two teams,
Kristina Foreman hit two home runs, while
Deja Davis drove in three more in a 12-7 win.
Scouting The Opponent
NC State: Entering the weekend at 19-3, NC State is off to the best start in program history and opened the ACC slate by taking two of three games against Syracuse. The Wolfpack are set to meet their first ranked team this season, but have several common opponents as the Blue Devils, with wins over Florida A&M, Villanova and Elon. Graduate students Logan Morris and Carson Shaner are impact players on offense, with the former hitting .492 with seven home runs and 26 RBI, while the latter is hitting .313 with nine home runs and 20 RBI. The Wolfpack pitching staff has a combined 2.33 ERA, with big contributions from Maddie McPherson, Aisha Weixlmann and Sam Gress.
What to Watch For
- Caroline Jacobsen is in the longest on-base streak of her career, reaching in all 21 games this season to match the second-longest streak in program history. The longest streak in program history is Rachel Crabtree's 25 games in 2019.
- Foreman and Jacobsen are closing in on 100 career RBIs, with Foreman just one away and Jacobsen three away.
- The two co-winners of the ACC's most recent Player of the Week award, Kavel and NC State's Logan Morris will share the field this weekend after finishing in a tie on Wednesday.
- The weekend series will feature two of the most potent power hitting lineups in the nation, as Duke ranks in a tie for first in total home runs in the nation (40), while NC State sits fourth (38).
- Duke is swinging for the fences early this season, ranking second in the nation in home runs per game at 1.90, behind only No. 1 Oklahoma. Foreman leads the team with eight on the season, good for 11th in the NCAA.
- In addition to leading the ACC in home runs per game, the Blue Devils also lead the league in batting average (.349), slugging percentage (.644), on-base percentage (.441) and scoring (7.57 runs per game).
- The Blue Devils have won 18 consecutive games against ACC opponents and won the last three regular season ACC series via a sweep (dating back to last season). One of those three series were against the Wolfpack.

- Duke softball looks to Strike Out Cancer this weekend as they host NC State. They will be raising awareness for leukemia & pediatric cancer on Friday by wearing orange ribbons and yellow laces, the respective colors for each of those types of cancers. On Sunday, they will raise awareness for breast cancer by wearing pink warm-up shirts.
