Duke field hockey head coach
Pam Bustin is excited to announce the 2022 Blue Devil freshman class this spring. Over the coming weeks, we will profile each of the incoming Blue Devils. This week, we introduce
Paige Bitting.
"Paige brings a strong and consistent style of play to the Blue Devil program," said Bustin. "She is highly skilled, hard-working, and pays attention to the subtleties of the game. She keeps to the grind and stays on task. Paige is very familiar with Division I and ACC field hockey as both her older sisters competed in the league: Morgan (Duke '19) and Alli (UL '21); all who played for the legendary Linda Kreiser at Lower Dauphin HS. I am honored to welcome Paige officially to the program and can't wait to get started!"
An NFHCA first team All-American this past season, Bitting is a four-year letterwinner for Linda Kreiser at Lower Dauphin High School. She was a leader for the Lower Dauphin team that won the 2021 Keystone Division title and advanced to the District 3 championship. Playing both midfield and back, Bitting recorded double digit goals and assists as a senior en route to garnering all-state first team and NFHCA all-region honors. Bitting was in integral in Lower Dauphin winning consecutive district titles and advancing to the PIAA Class AAA State Championship game in 2018 and 2019, earning all-state second team recognition as a sophomore. She also was named PennLive Field Hockey Player of the Year her senior season.
Bitting played her club hockey with Nook Hockey and helped the U19 squad to a National Club Championship bronze medal in 2019. She also has been involved with USA Field Hockey throughout her young career as a member of the USA Rise Team and earning an invite to the USA Field Hockey Junior National Team camp.
Off the hockey field, Bitting also was a four-year letterwinner for Lower Dauphin's lacrosse team. Additionally, she was very involved in extracurricular activities for her school, sitting on the Mini-THON committee and as member of Volunteen. An excellent student, she is a member of the National Honor Society, the Science National Honor Society, Math National Honor Society, National English Honor Society
and History Honor Society.
