Blue Devil Women Return to USTFCCCA National Poll

DURHAM – Duke women's track and field re-entered the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national rankings, checking in at No. 25 in the week five poll, as announced on Monday afternoon.
The Blue Devils are one of four ranked teams from the ACC, joining No. 9 Virginia Tech, No. 11 NC State and 12th-ranked Notre Dame. Additionally, the Blue Devil women are slotted third in the ACC and check in at No. 3 in the Southeast Region.
Graduate student Erin Marsh, senior Isabel Wakefield and the women's 4x400m relay unit of junior Jenna Crean, freshmen Abby Geiser and Megan McGinnis and graduate student Lauren Hoffman hold indoor marks that currently rank in the top-15 in the NCAA this season.
Marsh and Wakefield are currently slotted at fifth and sixth in the pentathlon with point totals of 4,172 and 4,159, respectively. The duo's performances in the event have contributed to the Blue Devils boasting the top-ranked pentathlon event squad in the country. Duke's 4x400m ran a 3:34.03 at the Tyson Invitational, which ranks 11th nationally.
The Duke men also earned a spot in the regional rankings as the No. 6 team in the Southeast. Graduate student Nick Dahl's school-record mile time of 3:55.89 currently checks in at No. 13 in the NCAA.
Duke turns its attention to the postseason, beginning with next week's ACC Indoor Championships, hosted by Virginia Tech. The three-day meet will take place Feb. 24-26 in Blacksburg, Va.
