Gorman Tabbed ACC Fencer of the Week

DURHAM – Duke fencing senior Alex Gorman was named ACC Fencer of the Week following her performance over the weekend, the conference office announced Wednesday.
The Blue Devils defeated No. 9 Temple (15-12), Air Force (23-4), Boston College (25-2) and Brandeis (26-1) and fell to No. 7 Penn State (15-12).
The saber squad posted a flawless 5-0 outing and was led by Gorman who added nine victories. She went 3-0 against Boston College and 2-1 against No. 7 Penn State, No. 9 Temple and Air Force.
Duke will now turn its attention to the 2022 ACC Fencing Championship Feb. 26-27. The Blue Devils will serve as the host site in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
