DURHAM – Softball senior
Caroline Jacobsen has been named Duke's PNC Achievers Student-Athlete of the Week, following her 2022 season debut this past weekend at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz.
Jacobsen played in all five games in right field, going 6-for-13 for a .462 batting average with three home runs, four RBI, one double, three walks, and one stolen base.
The Tallahassee Fla. native hit home runs in three straight games against No. 5 Oklahoma State, Utah, and No. 21 Arizona State for the longest home run streak of her career.
Behind Jacobsen, Duke softball opened the season with a 4-1 record, headlined by defeating a top-five program for the third straight season in No. 5 Oklahoma State.
Duke will look for another winning weekend at the T-Mobile Tournament in Gainesville, Fla, where they will face No. 6 Florida, Florida A&M, Louisville, and Villanova from Feb. 18-20.
