HISTORY WITH VCU
Friday's contest is the 36th all-time meeting between the two programs with Duke leading the series 32-3. The Blue Devils are riding a nine-match winning streak over the Rams, including a 6-1 defeat during the teams' last meeting on Jan. 28, 2017.

SCOUTING THE RAMS
VCU sits with an overall record of 2-3, and dropped its last outing to then No. 11 Kentucky 7-0. Brothers Charles Bertimon and Maxence Bertimon found themselves listed on the most recent ITA national rankings, securing the No. 25 spot in doubles action. Through five matches the pairing is 3-2 including a 6-3 victory over No. 21 Trent Bryde and Phillip Henning of Georgia. In singles action, seniors Charles Bertimon and Rayane Stable lead the team with a mark of 3-2.

HISTORY WITH KENTUCKY
Duke currently leads the all-time series with the Wildcats 14-8, but Kentucky outlasted the Blue Devils during their last meeting a year ago, 4-3. Over the last 10 meetings, the Wildcats hold the slight edge at 6-4.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
Kentucky comes into the weekend ranked as the No. 10 team in the country according to the ITA's most recent poll. The Wildcats sit with an overall record of 7-0, including a 7-0 win over VCU during its last outing. Junior Gabriel Diallo is currently ranked as the No. 5 singles player, while sophomore Joshua Lapadat comes in at No. 37. In doubles play, Lapadat and teammate JJ Mercer are tied for the No. 57 best doubles duo in the nation. Kentucky will have a tough test on Friday before it heads to Durham as the team travels to face No. 1 Ohio State in Columbus.

Duke University has announced that food and beverage service will resume at home indoor athletic events, beginning Sunday, Feb. 6.
The sale of concessions will resume, along with the availability of food and beverage service in all hospitality areas.
Duke Athletics thanks its fans for remaining diligent in adhering to the Duke and Durham indoor mask mandates and again reminds its patrons to wear proper, tight-fitting masks (preferably KN95 or N95) that completely cover the nose and mouth when indoors on campus.

The Blue Devils hit the road next weekend for their make-up match against Illinois on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 12 p.m. CT. Duke was originally scheduled to play the Illini on Friday, Feb. 4 but had to reschedule due to inclement weather.
