DURHAM – Duke cross country freshman
Dalia Frias picked up her third ACC Freshman of the Week selection after turning in another strong race performance, this one coming at the Nuttycombe Invitational this past weekend.
The Hermosa Beach, Calif., native continues to build on her impressive freshman campaign, earning the league's distinction for the third time in as many meets. Racing against a loaded women's field, Frias once again produced the top women's time of all ACC true freshmen and was the second-fastest finisher for the Duke women in the 6K race, clocking 20:37.8 to place 67th overall out of 263 athletes.
In the four weekends Duke has competed, the Blue Devils have gone 4-for-4 on ACC Freshman of the Week honors on the women's side. Frias won the last three weekly freshman honors, with classmate
Anna Corcoran also earning the distinction back on Sept. 6.
The Blue Devils are back in action next weekend as the team returns to the Panorama Farms course in Charlottesville, Va., to open postseason competition at the ACC Championships on Friday, Oct. 28.
