DURHAM – New York Jets cornerback Michael Carter II shined with eight tackles and a sack in the Jets 28-24 close loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the 17th week of play in the National Football League.

Carter's sack, a five-yard takedown of Tampa Bay quarterback Tom Brady, was the first of his career. Also in the contest, Jets long snapper Thomas Hennessey led the New York special teams unit and added a tackle. Former Blue Devil defensive back Ross Cockrell saw action for the winning side, totaling one tackle and a forced fumble for the Buccaneers.

Veteran offensive linemen Lucas Patrick of the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers Laken Tomlinson started on their respective offensive lines in wins on Sunday. The Packers topped the Minnesota Vikings, 37-10, and San Francisco defeated the Houston Texans, 23-7.

Oakland Raiders tight end Daniel Helm saw action in a win over the Indianapolis Colts, 23-20.
