Megan Furtney. A product of St. Charles, Ill., Furtney attended St. Charles North High School prior to arriving in Durham. She is a two-time WGCA Scholar All-American and two-time ACC Honor Roll selection.
GoDuke.com: If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Megan Furtney: Rice bowls
GD: Who's your favorite golfer and why?
MF: Nelly Korda. Her swing is one of my favorites!
GD: What was the last thing you read?
MF: A book called "All They Will Call You" for one of my classes this semester
GD: What sport would you play if you didn't play golf?
MF: Basketball or tennis
GD: What's the last show you binge-watched?
MF: Squid Game on Netflix
GD: What's your favorite ice cream topping?
MF: Sprinkles
GD: Are you into podcasts or do you listen to music?
MF: I'm into both. For road trips I listen to podcasts, but I listen to music every day.
GD: Are you a beach or mountain person?
MF: Beach
GD: What phone app do you use the most?
MF: TikTok
GD: What your favorite movie genre?
MF: Horror
GD: What's your all-time favorite Halloween costume?
MF: Hermione from Harry Potter. She was one of my favorite fictional characters growing up!
GD: What do you wish you knew more about?
MF: Investing in stocks
GD: How different was your life one year ago?
MF: Extremely different! We were living in the campus hotel and preparing for our very first event of the 2020-2021 season since we didn't have a fall season, but I'm still so grateful for all the fun I had last season and where I am at now!
GD: What's the farthest you've been from home?
MF: My family went on vacation to the Bahamas!
GD: What is your ideal way to spend a weekend?
MF: Catching up on sleep and spending time with my friends.

GD: What's your favorite Disney character?
MF: Belle. She has always been my favorite as a kid.
GD: What's one thing on your bucket list?
MF: To visit all 7 continents
GD: The best class you've taken at Duke and why?
MF: Any class with Prof Grody! He is the best and his business classes are so helpful.
GD: What's your favorite place to eat in Durham?
MF: Namu or Burger Bach
GD: What is your favorite spot on campus?
MF: WU, the dining hall for students!
GD: Who has had the largest impact on your life and why?
MF: My parents, they are the strongest people I know and they push me to get better every day.
GD: What's one word that your teammates would use to describe you?
MF: Passionate
