ANN ARBOR, Mich. – No. 6 Duke women's tennis registered a strong showing on the second day of the Michigan Invitational as the Blue Devils swept singles action at the Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor.
Duke dominated its individual singles matchups with Notre Dame and posted a perfect 7-0 mark against the Fighting Irish. No. 73

Emma Jackson picked up the first two victories of the morning for the Blue Devils, beginning with Drummy's defeat of Nibedita Ghosh 6-0, 6-3. Jackson's matchup with Carrie Beckman was a more tightly contested tilt – following a close 7-5 triumph in the first set, the two competitors battled to a 6-6 score which set up a tiebreaker to decide the final point. Jackson won the tiebreaker,7-3, to claim the point and victory for the Blue Devils.

Karolina Berankova and 48th-ranked freshman
Ellie Coleman each notched straight set wins to push Duke's singles mark to 5-0. Chen posted a 6-3, 6-1 win over Page Freeman, while Berankova took down Meghan Coleman (6-4, 6-3) and Coleman bested Yashna Yellayi, 6-1 and 6-4.
Fifteenth-ranked
Chloe Beck came out on top in her battle with the Fighting Irish's Julia Andreach, winning the matchup in three sets. Beck triumphed in a closely contested first set, 7-6 (2). Needing to decide the final point with the score at 6-6, Beck won the tiebreaker 7-2 to take the final point and first set. After falling in set two, Beck bounced back with a decisive 6-2 victory in the winner-take-all third set to keep Saturday's singles mark unblemished.
In her first singles match of the spring, graduate student
Eliza Omirou closed out singles action for the day with a pair of 6-3, 6-3 wins over Maria Olivia Castedo.
The Blue Devils faced host and 16th-ranked Michigan during the afternoon session with the schedule pivoting to doubles matchups. Chen and Jackson collected the lone doubles win for Duke, defeating the Wolverines' Andrea Cerdan/Julia Fliegner by a score of 6-3.
Overall, Duke finished day two with wins in eight of its 10 combined singles and doubles matches.
UP NEXT
The Blue Devils wrap up the Michigan Invitational Sunday afternoon with matchups against No. 10 Ohio State and No. 16 Michigan. Duke will face the Buckeyes in doubles matches starting at noon, then close out the weekend with singles against the Wolverines.
