ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The sixth-ranked Duke women's tennis team wrapped up opening weekend with another successful day of competition, picking up four wins across singles and doubles Sunday afternoon to close out the Michigan Invitational.

The Blue Devils kicked off Sunday afternoon with doubles tilts against the 10th-ranked Buckeyes. The duo of senior

Eliza Omirou, outlasted their opponents from the Big Ten in tightly contested matchups.
Chen and Coleman faced some early adversity against Ohio State's Irina Cantos and Luna Dormet after falling behind by three games, however, the pair showed their resiliency and scored the next four to take a 5-4 lead and snatch the momentum back. Although the Ohio State duo tied the match at five, the momentum remained in favor of the Blue Devils. Chen and Coleman produced the final two games of the match to claim the 7-5 victory.
Drummy and Omirou took on the Buckeyes' Lucia Marzal and Dani Schoenly in a highly competitive back-and-forth affair. Duke's duo jumped out to a 2-1 advantage, but Marzal/Schoenly registered three of the next four to surge in front by one, 5-4. The teams traded the final three games and forced a tiebreaker to decide the winner with the score tied at six. Drummy and Omirou jumped out to a 5-2 advantage before going on to take the tiebreaker 7-5 and secure a 7-6 (5) match win.
Following the conclusion of doubles competition, Duke shifted its attention to singles action against 16th-ranked Michigan with two of matches going the way of the Blue Devils. No. 15 Beck and No. 73 Drummy notching wins over ranked opponents. Drummy earned her second ranked win of the weekend and bested No. 99 Julia Fliegner in straight sets (6-2, 6-2), then Beck rallied from one set down to defeat 17th-ranked Kelli Miller 2-6, 6-1, 6-1.

Duke opens dual match play with a pair of home tilts against No. 10 Ohio State and No. 23 Princeton. The Blue Devils host the Buckeyes Friday, Jan. 21 at 6 p.m., before closing out the weekend against the Tigers Sunday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m.
