CHICAGO – U.S. Women's National Team head coach Vlatko Andonovski has announced former Duke student-athlete Imani Dorsey to the 25-player roster for the team's annual January training camp that will take place in Austin, Texas from Jan. 19-28.
The BioSteel training camp marks the first action of 2022 for the USWNT. The team's first matches of the year will take place at the 2022 SheBelieves Cup, Presented by Visa, against the Czech Republic (Feb. 17) and New Zealand (Feb. 20) at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif., and Iceland (Feb. 23) at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
Dorsey recently made her USWNT debut on Nov. 30, playing 23 minutes in a match against the Australian National Team. The contest was played in front of 20,459 fans at McDonald Jones Stadium in New Castle, Australia, and resulted in a 1-1 draw.
A native of Elkridge, Md., Dorsey has previously attended a USWNT training camp in November of 2019 before participating at an Identification Training Camp a month later. The 2018 NWSL Rookie of the Year also represented the United States on the U-17, U-19 and U-23 National Teams.
Dorsey played in 87 matches with 78 starts for the Blue Devils over her four-year career in Durham. She ranks in the top 10 in program history in career goals (29, tied for seventh), assists (22, tied for sixth) and points (80, eighth). A two-time All-ACC selection, she was an integral piece in Duke's runs to the 2015 and 2017 NCAA College Cup. As a senior in 2017, she put together one of the most decorated individual seasons in school history, becoming Duke's second ACC Offensive Player of the Year while earning a spot on the United Soccer Coaches All-America First Team.
She was selected with the fifth overall pick in the 2018 NWSL College Draft by Sky Blue FC (now Gotham FC) and made 16 appearances for Gotham this past season.
